I have owned every model of the 993 except the Cabriolet and the turbo is hands down my favorite one. It is quite simply exhilarating to drive each and every time . . . never gets dull!
Good luck with your decision.

Since you are posting on the Turbo 993 forum you are likely to get a number of responses advocating the purchase of the Turbo. However, that does not mean it is the best choice for you. A lot depends on what you are looking for in the car. For instance:
(1) Do you prefer the response of a normally aspirated or turbocharged engine? Also, how much power is enough? The Turbo feels (and is) significantly quicker than the C2S.
(2) What kind of condition are the cars in, and how important is overall condition to you? Also, have the cars been well maintained mechanically? These are not cars where you want to skimp on maintenance.
(3) How much do you intend to drive the car? Low mileage C2S's are relatively rare and command a premium. You are likely paying a lot for the low mileage. If you plan to drive it a lot the value can depreciate quickly (and do you care if it does?).
(4) How will you drive the car? All year round, or only on warm sunny days? The all wheel drive system of the Turbo is a nice feature to have when road conditions are less than ideal.
(5) The turbo is somewhat more complex than the C2S and maintenance / repairs can be more costly. Are you OK with the potential added expense of owning a turbo?
(6) Have a PPI done and use that to guide your decision
(7) Finally, and most importantly - which car appeals to you both aesthetically and in terms of the driving experience (as they do feel different)?

My first 993 was an Artic Silver 98 C2S. I was content with it until I drove a friends Turbo. I ended up selling the C2S and bought myself a Turbo. In the realm of 993s go Turbo since IMO, "There is no substitute"... except for maybe a Turbo S, RS or GT.

i went from a carrera to C2s then finally a turbo. i think the Turbo is the best. but that doesn't take away anything from the C2s because it has a different character. considering the mileage difference, i think the condition of the car and your intended use should be the determining factor. if you plan to use often (DD) or will get stuck in any form of stop and go traffic, then hands down the turbo. it's more plush inside and the soft clutch is a big advantage. but for purity of driving and feel, i think the C2S is the better car.

I think you are receiving some very good advice from the forum members. I just know that for me, once I drove the turbo I sort of kicked myself for the years I spent with the C2S and C4S. It is not a trivial difference in terms of power . . . and that power is intoxicating!!!
As others have advised you, drive both and you will know.

Thx for all the advice.
Both vehicle condition are similar , very clean , C2S from local Porsche Dealer , other from Car broker.
I intend to keep it for a little longer this time , so looking for something more rare in the long run.
Power is not really the matters , I don't drive fast.

don't have much to add, had picked out a 993 c2s that I was going to buy, but then drove my friends new to him 993turbo. The turbo's ruined it for all the other cars I have driven, and even today wouldn't consider any other car except maybe the 997.2 GT3 RS, except when I drive my friend's, it reminds me of my turbo... the 4.0 or GT2 RS would be a different question, but then I wouldn't be able to have as much fun in the garage with either of those cars...
Would be good to have another 993 turbo owner on RL in Vancouver.

I have been on the TT market for 2 years now and I almost flinched (2 times) for a c4s as I haven't found THE ONE. I thought it could help me wait until that day... but every time I get behind the wheel of my friend's beloved TT, I realize that there is no substitute.... But as long as we are searching the same cdn market... go with the 993S
