How many of you guys with intercooler hoses blowing off also have aftermarket aluminum blow off valves? I don't think there's as much problems with the stock valves, and the hoses blow off because the aluminum ones don't open/respond as fast

That's my theory as well. I have aluminum diverter valves and I think my problems blowing off hoses happened with sudden closing of the throttle.

I haven't had any more problems since replacing the original intercooler hoses with the orange-ended versions and using Breeze clamps. Just make sure to clean out the end of the hoses with brake cleaner to remove any oily residue when putting the intercooler back on.

I understand that you all would love to see the kit, as would I. I don't have the funds for it right now and I doubt that I will be the first to buy it. What I can assure you of is that Rob King at S-Car-Go won't put a product out there that he is not sure of. I'm sure the person who purchaases the kit will be pleased and be able to post the pics of the kit installed. If I had the funds I would be on it right now. Until then I have to curb my spending on other parts so I can buy it.

If you're in the position to purschase just call them up. From what I was told they have the kits available now and I believe it's approx. $800.00 USD. Rob told me he is sure it will be the last hoses the car will ever need.

how much $$$ for unused factory hoses?
email me price.
thanks.

Btw I did try a custom built hose with 2.5" aluminum tubes and elbow reducer to the turbo connection and was unable to install them. I'm thinking to do it with 2" aluminum tubes.

Anyone know where to get replacements for the silicone end pieces on Viperbob's hard pipe setup? Mine are fine now but thought it might be nice to have spares around just in case

Me.
Passenger hose blows when ever I run it hard at 1.1 barg on a cool evening.
Using the aluminum blow off valves too.

comments/advice welcome.

I don't think the aluminum diverter valves respond as well/quickly as the stock rubber diaphragm ones. If you look at it, although the aluminum piston is light, it has to require more vacuum to open. The vacuum also has to work against the closing spring. So when you're boosting to 1.1 and come off the throttle and the throttle body closes, until the diverter valves open, that boost is backing up into the intercooler/hoses. My diverter valves have springs that can be swapped out to adjust how fast it closes; but the stiffer spring also means the vacuum has to work against the spring (needs more vacuum) to open. With the stiffer spring that was recommended for my turbos, I didn't think I could hear the diverter valves opening as much. Also had problems with hoses popping off. So I switched to a softer spring and now I hear the diverter valves opening more often and I've also not had the hoses popping off...
So if you can change the springs in your aluminum diverter valves, change to a softer spring or change back to stock.
I don't think the resulting 'compressor surge' is good for the turbos either...
