Default 993TT vs 996TT which to sell....

I cant figure it out so I have decided to let fate decide. I bought both a 996TT and 993TT knowing I would only be able to keep one. I cant decide which car to keep after driving both for a few months so I am going to post them both on ebay in the next couple of week and let fate decide. Whichever one doesnt sell - I plan to keep it. The 996TT is the better daily driver. The 993TT is a car which for me will always be the best porsche ever made. I am not trying to flip the cars - selling for exactly what I paid. If anyone is interested send me a PM. The 993TT was previously owned by Tony (Spidey 993 - super nice guy). As always PPI's are welcome.

The basic stats:
993TT:
1997
Brand new tires (they have 50 miles on them)
5k miles on top end rebuild by former owner (Mark D from FD Motorsports)
New Clutch / LWF
New turbos
RS mounts
2WD Conversion (parts included to go back to 4WD)
Front end respray for rock chips
Alcantara covered 3 spoke steering wheel
Alcantara covered eBrake Handle
Alcantara covered shift ****
Tarret kinematic toe links
new tie rod ends
PSS9
Original seats + Hardbacks
6k sound system and ipod hookup
Lots of documentation and service history
200 cell sport cats
Fister turbo mufflers
SSK and shift rod
Ruf wide oval tips
Fiske FM10 wheels in perfect condition
Turbo car cover
RUF strut brace
Aluminum pedals
Rennline door pulls
Billet aluminum lower valve covers
new front rotors and pads (3k miles ago)
93k miles
$50k without the hardbacks or $53.5k with

996TT:
2003
UMW Tune (just completed)
18k miles - two owners, 134k window sticker
Basalt black metallic
Brown leather
Dark wood package
Supple leather front and rear
Both leather packages (even the vents are leather)
PCM II + navigation
Dension ipod integration
Integrated radar/laser
Window sticker - certificate of authority - records
Exterior doesnt have a scratch or ding. Paint meter says all original paint. I have a video of the paint meter which will be posted with the for sale ad.
Flawless

So, why would you sell "the best car Porsche ever made"?

Both cars have pros and cons. The 996 is the more comfortable car as a daily driver. Its also much faster with the UMW tune. The 993TT is the best looking porsche ever made and tons of fun to drive. As I said - difficult to choose.

From a value standpoint, I would sell the 996TT. I have a 993 and a 996 GT3 with many upgrades, but
I consider the 993 as my keeper.

Well you have a dilema. On this board we will all say sell the faster, better daily driver. On the 996 board it will be the opposite.
You will always be able to pick up another mint 996 but will you always be able to do the same for the best looking car ever made? Maybe.
Soon you will be able to buy two 996 Turbos for the price of one mint 993TT the way the 996's are heading.
I also drove a 996TT before buying this car. yes it was faster and a better car, but the looks mate................the looks!
I feel sorry for you!

I would unload the 996, they are great DD, but a dime a dozen and they are still dropping in value. The 993 has taken it's hit long ago, even at those miles it will hold it's value better.
(I would have kept the 930 and sold 'em both, but that's a different story.)

No brainer, sell the 996TT. My opinion is unbiased as I don't have either cars.

The only problem is the selling price of 996TT will be much less than what you may anticipate.

As a 996tt owner, I probably agree with you.

However, once the 993tt tops 100k miles, the value will drop even more. So- good time to sell?

I showed my wife your photos and asked her which one should be sold, she pointed straight to the 996...."Don't like that thing, what is it?"!!

993tt looks awesome, keep it.
