Stock 993TT + $4k = 560bhp?

$4K "might" buy you 560HP, but not for long. That is the difference.
Kudos to Protosport from here too. They are "tweaking" my front brake setup on my 993TT as I write this, and I will post pics when I get the car back and on the road once winter is done.

Viperbob, please don't get too discouraged. Your knowledge & opinions are valued, regardless if everyone is in complete agreement. The 993 Turbo Forum has a great group of guys. Pretty drama free (as compared to other parts of Rennlist). Please check-in and continue to contribute.

Lets be clear, I do not want viper bob to leave. I know how much experience he has here.
But I also like to learn, and when many other respected posters like Kevin indicate that a lot more work (like k24s, cams, exhaust, etc) are needed, I'm wondering how someone car do the seemingly impossible.
Also, my love for data makes me really want to see some of the fueling information.
This forum has been pretty dead on tech lately, so the more conversation (spirited or not) the better.

Good god this is why I dont post here anymore. I have nothing to prove to anyone here. Be skeptical, I dont care. Been there, done that and try to pass on info. Yes when we did these things was back before all the datalogging 60-130 stuff TB. I have moved on to mostly racing now with newer Porsches. If you are in doubt ask guys I raced with in CA, or any of my 993TT customers (many Rennlisters).

To be sure, there are many ways - in the short term - to get a 993TT to produce that kind of power for $4k - from simple NOS to a radical ECU tune to....; however, if you want a drivable, linear and reliable 993TT - LONG-TERM -with those numbers, you need to invest time and money.

You can be as radical as you want with a K16 but it won't be taking you much past 500. NOS I've no idea but never seen it done successfully on a 993tt.
Because of the Mantra of the likes of VB (and I hate to say it Todd K, unless he has changed his mind about his lower end packages) there will be many people smoking around thinking they have 560hp, the reality for 90% of them is they are under 500hp or at the very best can have a 520 squirt for a drag run.
This is quite funny since it is what the 60-130 was created for and it was because the snake oil tuners of the day were concentraing on the newish 993tts which are much harder to extract reliable power from than the newer stuff.
Where are the 500hp + 60-130s ?
The only Andial 3.8 one came in looking about 520hp (did someone say VB's 700 hp racer was beaten by an Andial 3.8 ) Ruf 490 from Bill S was spot on around the 500 mark. Jussi built a timebomb which blew everything away, Jean's full house 3.8 Proto engine did the business but he never raced it at the 700hp it could produce..... 993tts run hot and at big power they warp their cylinders and heads.
So 500hp+ guys step up and buy a Performance box, they are cheap - get the thread going again, lets see one of the many 560hp VB creations
My 993tt with 577hp (for a little more than $4K) did 60-130 in 6.9s with two gear changes and 0-300kph in 28.9s - this is what a 993tt will perform like with this power.

So even on the lowside, you're at $25k...plus labor of at least $8k.

With a new bottom end you have ti rods, the heads need welding and o-ringing. There is machine shop labor and the labor to reassemble the motor.
It is a minimum of a $40- 50k build by the time its all said and done if you go this route.
I'm sure the Protomotive guys paid well above that for their 3.8's.
That kind of money can get you about 1000 hp on a 996TT or 997TT
