I have struck a deal and am about to buy this car.

It is, right now, at the local authorized Porsche dealer getting it's PPI.

Does anyone know this car, or see any obvious reason I should not buy it??

The carfax reports an accident from '98 which was reported to me by the dealer. Front bumper and rear bumper reportedly repainted. Looks like meticulous job.

Any input would be appreciated.

It is critical that the PPI is extensive on this car as it looks like it has a few modifications.

What exhaust is on the car?

Any engine work? Are they doing a leakdown?

Has the suspension been replaced, and if not then you will need new springs/shocks very soon (suggest M030's or PSS10's).

Have them look closely at the damage from the incident...could be just a bumper cover or paint, but need to ensure that is the case.

Good luck...looks like a nice example if everything checks out!

According to the seller it is totally stock; but he took it on trade for a '06 911; I think he doesn't really know it's mods. And my fund of knowledge is limited.

I'm getting a pretty good deal, so if it needs a few grand I'm ok with that. Plus, I've got John from Protosport in NJ in my utility belt, and he's gonna be doing some work to it to increase HP and performance.

Oh. And I'll make sure a leakdown is done.

What mods? I see no mention of mods. FULL PPI, leak down , history, etc. is needed. Could be a great car at a reasonable price.

From the auto trader ad pics, the "mods" the eyes can see seem to be

the exhaust tips

the turbo s fog/brake ducts

the wheels

the 3 spoke steering wheel, shifter, hand brake handle, dead pedal

Three spoke steering wheel with leather air bag, aluminum dead pedal and Turbo S front ducts with positioning lights.

Nice car but I would have a reputable body shop look at it due to the accident on CarFax. If the accident happened when it was only a year old they could have done a lot of work verse totaling it.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Exactly what I referring to...not saying it was extensive but by seeing what I see, I was just suggesting that a closer look is needed.

May I ask what you offered for the car? The price seems a little high for the 60K miles.

High 50's including the 2nd set of rims. Seamed fair to me... Especially with a solid PPI.
