Default It Appears I DON'T have a Turbo Issue

Three months ago I thought I might have a problem with one of my turbos when I found a small amount of oil under the right side. (https://rennlist.com/forums/993-turb...-or-major.html) Based on the advice of my Rennlist brothers, I didn’t panic. I started at the most simple explanation which came from Quadcammer; the large oil filter was on too tight.

A couple weeks ago I changed the oil and filters. I found that I had put the large filter on so tight during the last oil change that I crushed it while trying to removing it. Since installing the new filter I have had no issues.

Thanks for the sound advise Oliver.

glad you don't have turbo problems (or maybe too bad you don't get to upgrade?...)
btw I believe it's usually the small filter that is thought to be the culprit.

Chuck, I'm glad to hear it was something simple (although I do believe it was the small filter, no?)

Either way, I constantly have to stop myself from "just a little tighter" on some items without torque specs.

Either way, enjoy in good health and happy holidays.

I changed both filters and both were on tight.... but the large one was way tight. Another lesson learned. Thanks guys.

Is a cure for this is to get the updated oil feed lines with one-way valves and the p-trap?

No. Mine has the upgraded lines. I think by over tightening you are defeating the valve in the OEM filter.

Ahh, I was a bit confused, so not having issues is about having the right lines, valves, brand of filter ,and proper torque! Thanks!
