Welding the sunroof on Saturday. All the extra sunroof material has been removed. RS carpet kit on the way (decided to do a carpet delete so I wont be using it)

Turbodan, I started a couple of weeks ago doing the work after work in my garage. Glass is coming off this weekend then its off to the body shop. I can do all the body work but it will take too long. I want the car available for a few more DE events this year.

I fitted the GT2 body components but it still needs work. I was not going to do a complete paint job (thats why you see all the blue tape) but once I learned that the headliner replacement requires all the glass to come off I decided to move ahead with a complete.

I am staying with the original speed yellow so I wont need to do the trunk and door jambs.

Some more photos before the work started.

Im debating if now is the time to do the full cage? I have a yellow DAS rollbar now.

Adhore = ???

why all the hate for the sunroof?

Can't weigh more than 35lbs and the benefits are obvious. Then again, I like the rain gutters too, so go figure.

CAGE IT

No turning back now. Might as well do it right. And if you ever want to go back to a polar silver 2wd track/street car call me for a trade.

Very nice!

I like seeing someone do this in they're garage like I did DIY GT2 conversions are the way to go

Glad you went the metal route on the sunroof. Did you get the rear flare issue settled?

What are you doing for a headliner? I picked up a alcantara one from 928leather.com and it worked out really well

Cage it cage it cage it esp if its going to spend alot of its life on the track. You can do sort of a hybrid like mine where its a full GT2 cage replica except for one less cross bar at the door so you can get in and out ok. Girls have a little trouble getting over the bars but they manage to crawl in there somehow

All joking aside i was 50/50 on the full cage but now when i think about the speed that we are going at the track it makes me feel alot better having one. Just might save my life someday!

Cage if it is a track car, no cage if it is a street car unless you want to wear a helmet all the time
Bless you, I know how hard it is to cut the sheetmetal on a perfectly perfect car.
