Default A great way to increase engine sound IN the car

I've always been frustrated by the quietness of our cars at the track inside the car. I really like to go by engine sound for my internal "RPM reading" and find it tough with our cars. I've tried lots of stuff, but the best thing to date has been a recent upgrade to solid motor mounts. Above 4000 RPM, the interior sound is bliss

Outside the car is mostly hopeless, but I really don't care about that except at low speeds and for that I've always been happy with Cargraphic mufflers and 100 cell cats or no cats (hated the muffler bypasses with 100 cell cats).

Just thought I'd share...

I'm thinking of ditching my slightly sagging noise dampner thingie. I hear that improves engine noise in the cabin.

yeah, I've seen those on Canysmc's car, but I don't like the small outlet appearance wise and I can't deal with a check engine light.

I'm going with FDM 200cell sport cats in the oem pipes as soon as goldman stock abates its nose dive.

Remove the cassette/storage tray at the back of the center console and take out the sound insulation and rubber plug and then put the tray back in. Extra sound at no cost!

That will have to come from the next track day; my current camera setup contains mostly wind noise

Why do those AWE straight pipes taper at one end? Looks relatively restrictive, No???

don't think its restrictive, but I believe there is a technical reason, that just happens to escape me right now.

AWE's copy of factory GT2 race pipes. helps w/some back pressure...ask Kevin. I run straight out of a pair of cats Kevin made me and I think that's about the best you'll get for noise out of a turbo...
