Default Must ask...what wing is this?

Hello,

I'm in the market for a 993tt and I'm taking advantage of the search function as much as I can.

(BTW, I'm thoroughly impressed by the extensive knowledge and passion of the members here!)

However, there are a few things I'm having trouble finding the answers to. One such issue is regarding the pics of the gorgeous RUF owned by "leonsamonas". Link below:

https://rennlist.com/forums/2731992-post39.html

Can someone please enlighten me on the manufacturer of his wing? Is it a RUF wing?

Thanks.

I've never seen it before, but it looks very aero, matches the ruf mirrors. Someone here will know though

When Google Ruf Turbo R for images, here's one, of many results:

Appears this tail is similar:

I have spent a lot of time (and $$$) perusing the Ruf catalogs, and have never seen any rear spoiler offered by Ruf. I discussed with them my replacing my TT spoiler for a TTS spoiler, and they were quite enthusiastic about that switch. No other rear spoiler was mentioned.

It almost looks like Ruf took the stock wing and 'shaved' the outer lip. I can't see any other difference from stock...appearance wise. Ruf modified factory part?

Thanks for your replies. It probably is just a shaved factory wing. It looks good, though. Very subtle.

It's a RUF piece. I think it was made in very limited numbers and was never offered for purchase outright. Leon must have been a very special customer . I don't think it's based on the regular spoiler. If you look closely, the RUF spoiler is much smaller: e.g both narrower and lower (not as tall) as the OEM spoiler. I believe this was mainly for aerodynamic reasons. See pics attached TurboR NB conversion:

Edit: Now when I look at it, it does look as if RUF just shaved the outer edge of the OEM TT spoiler. Hmm..

The proportions all look stock from where I sit. Whatever they did, it is very elegant. I would like one in GP White, please.

By the way, this type of mod on this type of material is not challenging, nor difficult. You just have to know how the materials behave. The hardest part would be making the left side look the same as the right side.

Based on this photo of the same car in the OP's link, it looks like the wing appeared after the switch to flat black paint (as in, after the initial RUF conversion). Also, looks like a GT2 is all over his ****!

I agree with others that it's a stock wing that has been shaved. That would be like Ruf to do something like that. Regardless, I think it looks really cool.

Looks like a 993 RS wing upper countour which would make sense as many Ruf's were narrow body.
