How about K16-K24 hybrids with a Porsche 450 ecu?
Okay then chaps...the consensus was don't do it!!!
I have found a UK supplier who can fit a K24 compressor to my spare K16's, and refurb them at the same time. What's the view on these couple with the Porsche 450 ECU?
Taj.

Are they from AET? If so they're the same as mine, and they perform well in my engine! No idea whether they will work well with the 450 ecu, why don't you just get a proven kit?
Do you already have the ecu and that's what you are working around? If so why don't you just get the turbos that are made for that program, i'm guessing the stock GT2 K24's, and live with that?
I would have thought, probably ignorantly, that the 450 ecu will still give you roughly 450bhp whatever happens. The ecu senses airmass, once it reaches it's set airmass target it will open the wastegates, you may reach peak torque and peak power earlier with different turbos but you will still have the maximum airmass target programmed into the ecu. That's my fuzzy logic way of thinking about it, i'm no expert

AET, tell me more please JBL.
I am trying to avoid K24's purely on a cost basis and because of the LAG that the factory kit has. I have a pair of K16's that need refurbing and I am considering a K24 cold side, K16 hot side turbo. I have found a rebuilder who can refurb and do the turbo compressor upgrade for £600 total for both turbos.
I also have access to a factory 450 ECU. So, if K16's are a no no, this hybrid should provide the volume the ECU expects as the compressor is correct for this ecu, and it should offer quicker spool up thereby eliminating any lag issues the factory kit has. Sounds ideal. Makes you wonder why hybrids were not the default route?
I am happy with 450hp as its the max that Porsche went to on the road car, and with this ecu I maintain any factory tolerances around safety.
So thats my fuzzy logic...no hopefully the experts will chime in with proper logic and science.
thanks chaps,
Taj.

IMHO, You should get turbos matched for the program. This is the general consensus from many people who have tried the mix and match approach and didn't get the desired result... Get a proper kit with matched components... So if you want to use the 450 ecu, get the stock k24s; if you want hybrids, get a kit from someone like Kevin.

450 PS kit K24s
I still have my Porsche K24s (from the Porsche 450 PS kit). They were used for about 12kmiles before I went with hybrid and custom tune. Anybody interested let me know. Actually I still also have the hideous pair of twin round exh. tips (never used) that come with the 450 PS kit . . . LOL
