Thanks for all the great input guys. Yep she's a bit of a mess, but it really isn't as bad as it looks, or so they keep telling me.
The insurance covers track days as long as they are not timed events. Thats the clincher. We were being timed but were told many times thats this is not a race. They think it was a Motorsport NZ event, which it wasn't.
The most disturbing thing to me is that the investigator came to my house and stayed nearly 2 hours and got all the info he asked for. I gave him details of the Porsche club guy who would clear this up and tell them it wasn't what they think it was, plus a lawyer friend of mine details, who was also on the track behind me, and has the same policy, plus other info, but the ***** never told the insureres this! My mate the lawyer said I'm covered and it comes down to wording.
I'm talking to them still and if I get the result I will ask it to be written off. If I don't get the desired result, I already have the ball rolling for parts.
What a total ***** of a year this has been.

Wow.... I am really sorry to see your sweet heart set of wheels get all bent out of shape but it still would be a thousand times worse if you were messed up and couldn't go about life properly after wards. In the end .... as much as we love our wheels.... they are only cars. Best of luck to getting back on the road with at least as nice a car real soon.

Wooo, that sucks. I keep thinking about tracking my car then I see stuff like this. I feel bad for you, hope the insurance company gives in and pays for the damages. Keep us posted!

FWIW, I don't even drive my car on the street anymore - its strictly a track hound. I buy track insurance per event (which works out to less than regular insurance - which I no longer carry for the car). I have almost 30 track days on it this year, I over maintain it and it runs like a clock. I don't worry about wrecking too much bc I know I'm covered and I LOVE driving it to every inch of its capabilities, something I can't come remotely close to doing on the street without fear of incarceration or worse endangering the lives of others.

Goes to show a full cage is the only way to survive. Talk about crashed and burned! Is this a recent wreck? Looks like a barrel roll with an endo finish. And the driver door cut open? How many tracks have "jaws of life" these days? (I'm guessing not many.)

So sorry for this loss. Good that it's only a rib. Wonder why the airbags didn't deploy. Sure looks like that front warranted it.
Good luck with the insurance.

Graham,
That is a painful sight. Reminds me of the fateful April day in 2005 when my BTR kissed the dirt mound. That was a bad memory.
Please get better soon. Both the rib and the car that is.
Best wishes.
