I've had the privilege of also seeing this car in person.
Jochen- nice meeting you at Tom's and having lunch next door. Great Excellence article--now I'm looking forward to the next one....on the road. Your racing achievements and development of the 993 are amazing.

pics to come
thanks to all for the compliments.
It was a great project which I was wanting to do for years. Currently the car is getting fitted with a new boost guage (integrated in the clock) and all the remaining leather interior trim pieces being removed and replaced with the proper plastic leatherette style bits.
I will post more pics of the interior soon. The Excellence drive will happen soon. After that time to take it to Infineon and drive it like it meant to be!

Finally got to buy a copy at an airport, beautiful car and worth belonging to Jochen like no one else.
Thumbs up for changing that boost gauge and its location, it surprised me to see that you went with that option. Can't wait to read about the test, I hope they drive it as it should, and give it the coverage it deserves.

When you do the Infineon drive, can you please PM me with a little advance notice so I can be there to see you drive?
Thanks again.

Jochen-- I finally stopped by Barnes & Noble, just for your GT2. Congratulations on your beautiful beast, racing career, & the feature article. How did you go about getting published? Did they approach you?
I've been waiting to see your interior; page 74 didn't disappoint. I'm guessing you have the radio delete panel. Please reply with pics when able. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love to see shots of your customized engine, too.

In the meantime, these photos should help those of us without a GT2:
Excellence's GT2, Through and Through: A legendary race driver builds an achingly accurate 993 GT2 replica.

Curve Lover,
Thanks for the pics and the Excellence link. I heard the history of the GT2 in oral from before when we had lunch with Jochen. Even then, this is a fascinating read. I book-marked the article for keeps. Can't wait to read the follow-up article when they actually drive the car.
Jocehn, Thanks again for your marvellous creation. The 993GT2 remains my all-time favorite Porsche, even above my beloved Ruf BTR, and that's saying something. I doubt anybody else here in the States could have built this car, regardless how much $$$$$ he/she has. This is truly special.

Mr. Rohr's GT2 is feature in April's 2009 Excellence, and you are correct this is
an excellent conversion and representation of a GT2.
Very nice sample of how amazing these 993s can look 10+ years after. The three of them very tatstefully done, makes you want to drive them NOW!
Jochen's GT2 conversion is stunning. Congratulations, I believe these are the first pictures of the finished car that I have seen.
Rufus looks like serious business too and Pong's car a classic..

ow Jochen,
You have 2 months to put this baby together. Pressure indeed.
Unfortunately the Quail Lodge event is completely sold out. I will miss a chance to see yours and Mike's master-pieces together in one place.
Please take lots of pictures for us. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. It is not as if my day job is on fire or something.

The engine looks pukka twin plug EVO, is there any chance you have a close up of the plaque on the intercooler, I would love to see how Secan label these up ?
