I know this is a messy subject, but I've been watching for interesting 993TTs for the past few months and, of course - have seen prices all over the place.

Epicenter for lower mileage original (not S) cars with, say 30-40k miles seems to be around $50 to $60k.

Sound about right?

From the TT for sale listings,

looks more like:

60-80k miles sems around $55-65k

30-40k miles seems around $65-75k

under 30k miles seems around $75k and up

under 20k miles seems around $85k and up

S cars seem to start around $95k and up.


Good luck finding a 30k mile TT for $50k.....

11-25K = $75K to $85K
26-40K = $65K to $74K

The one I just purchased here in Houston (39k miles - Polar Silver/Flamenco Red) was originially listed for $69k. I traded my E46 CPO M3 (10.4k miles - another full year on the factory warranty) and coughed up $23k. Ahhhh...........valuation..............as much as an art as a science and an imperfect exercise as we all know. So you tell me what my M3 is/was worth and I'll tell you what I paid for my 993TT.

All that said............I could not be any happier.

Very easy, Danny. Are you in the market? When was the last time you purchased a 993TT? My knowledge shows the gap to be between $8-10K. I have seen some as high as $15K.

There are a lot of 993TT's for sale right now. The economy is in the tank. Gas will be $6 a gallon soon (for 93 octane). Sellers are very-very motivated.

Boy I hope you are right about the TT market. I'd love to pick one up cheap from some guy who drives it 3k miles a year (which is close to average for a 993TT), and can't afford the 200 gallons of gas per year to keep the car ($800/year, oh no, wait $1200! per year).

Anyone who wants to trade to a Prius to save the 150 gallons per year rather than driving their TT that 3000 miles, I'll be here with a new prius waiting to trade to you! Look, you will be saving $1500/year in gas when gas goes to $10 a gallon.

Sell now!!! These cars are going to zero!! Quick.

Oh, and give me a call right before you sell it at zero. While the car is really worth zero, I will be willing to pay a little more than that. Esp for a 1997 GR/black all-original TT with 30k or so miles.

I agree that the economy is down right now, but I think good cars are still going to fetch $$. I don't think the average TT owner will be that concern about gas prices hitting $6.

I have a 96 TT with about 12k miles and I hope it still worth north of $70k (knock on wood)

certain segments of the economy are down... others are very healthy. enough doom/gloom already.

The people who are in the market for these cars are likely not seriously impacted by the election year hand wringing currently in progress.

I would not hesitate to pay extra 10K for a clean low mileage car. Especially one with nice interiors.
