if you pour it all straight in, yes it is problematic.
The easier way (and suggested by someone more knowledgeable than me) is to pour in the first 6+ quarts, stop, remove the DME relay and run the starter off and on til oil pressure starts to build. Then replace the DME and start for just say 15 seconds or so which will circ enough so that the remainder of the oil can be poured in without having to dribble.

Even with doing that, you need to be extremely careful when pouring in the last quart or so. I've done probably a dozen+ oil changes on 993s and i stand there with a flashlight and a funnel and dribble the last bit in and it still gets close to the top of the tube on occasion.

The reason for cranking with the DME relay removed until you see oil pressure is to fill the empty oil filters without starting the engine. If you start the engine with empty filters you have a delay before you see oil pressure, and therefore a greater opportunity for wear.

Last night while looking at this thread I had an idea :-)
So lets say someone fabbed a plug that went in where the DME goes and then another end where the DME is actually at. In between a switch. Just flip the switch. Maybe ?????
