See I've heard the same feedback on the V-twin Mobile stuff but I'm still using it.

I'm looking to start using v-twin. Seems like that's the way to go.

Next time, change your oil P R I O R to winter storage. Not after. V-Twin is a smart choice.

What kind of oil would you recommend using in a 40-80 degree F climate?
The weather is usually around 70 degrees F in the summer but can get as low as 40 F in the fall.

So it would handle a cold start at 40 F just fine? At the moment this is my only car (don't have space for another) and I do change another oil for the winter but the 40-80 F is the range the summer oil should handle.

40 F is nothing for a quality full synthetic oil. Just keep the RPM's below 4,000 until the oil themostate opens and you have reached operating temps.

its not about the weight, its about the ZDDP.

Brad Penn and Mobil Vtwin have high levels of ZDDP, which, when burned, can shorten cat life.

I think it's more the additives that we want for anti-wear issues may be to much for the cats (zinc maybe)? As opposed to the weight of the oil.

Well that works out since I don't have cats (more of a dog person actually)

Then lastly, if I may.... the contrast of Bred Penn vs Mobil is debatable. But from what I understand Brad Penn is a synthetic blend (which could mean 1% of it is synthetic maybe) whereas Mobil is a full synthetic.

So guess I'm using right stuff...cat-less...moderate climate...Mobil V-twin?
