Default USA Turbo S vs ROW

Does anyone know the parts that are different in the US version versus the ROW.

Ours has 424 HP they 450 HP, I have heard ours had the K16 and theirs the K24 can anyone verify.

I would like to convert to ROW if I do a deal on a car.

Thanks

The EURO version had indeed 450BHP and K24s. The US version came in 424HP version but I think it also had K24s.. I can confirm once I am back home if no one has done so before.

Also believe the suspension in the ROW car was completely different. Toby posted the ROW part numbers some time back. US car had basic TT suspension, I think.

Intersting observation of self.

I am so much more pumped about this car than I was about my 997TT which I ordered in September last year and waited till May to pick. Really tells you where ones heart is, mine is air cooled.

I will be selling the 997TT.

This is a very timely post for me- I recently acquired a very nice Zenith Blue Metallic 993 TTS from a fellow Rennlister (Steven G) via Ray Joseph/RPM. My initial thought was to leave it in stock trim but since I lowered my '96 Polar Silver 993TT to RoW spec I don't think I can stand the look or ride of the TTS with its SUV suspension. The shocks definitely need to be replaced on the TTS anyway (I installed PSS9 in the TT) so any RoW suspension part numbers would be greatly appreciated

My European buddies say stick to the PSS9 for suspension.

My interest is more in getting the engine set up to Euro spec.

LAT,

I'm sorry, I don't know how to do the whole "look here" thing, but the search function will get you there. Toby did a post on 2-13-07 on the whole subject of the TTS. Suspension spec is included, as is a very interesting comment by urban_alchemist on what driving this suspension really feels like. Doesn't sound particularly good.

Love hearing this. I used to go into the Porsche dealership and look at the latest model an lust after it. Since I got my 993TTS I have not gone in again except for an occasional visit to the parts department. I tried to force myself to want a 997tt or GT3/RS, but just haven't gotten that excited about them.

Hope you enjoy whichever one you buy. Post pics upon delivery.

This is deja vu all over again. I have had the identical experience. The parts guy at Fred Baker Porsche said I am the only guy he talks to other than the service staff that needs 993 TTS parts.

LAT- thanks for the feedback re: the PSS9 suspension. It was a dramatic improvement over the OE set up in my '96 (and not just because the old one needed replacing). The ability to adjust ride height is just one of several advantages of the Bilsteins v. OE suspension (US or RoW spec).

That reminds me; is there a 993TTS registry on this or another site? I am not aware of one. I know the 964 3.6 Turbo and flachbau has one; why not the 993 TTS. Wouldn't it be nice to have something like the 964 flachbau site or Denny Schue's 246 Dino Ferrari registry for the 993 TTS? Just a thought.

How do we set up a registry on this site, does anyone have any experience with this process?

Lat,

Why don't you just start a "993TTS Owners register here" thread like I did for the Rufaholics? I think there is also an Andial registry thread. If there is a more permanent way to do this, I'd like to do it for the Rufaholics as well.
