At last a 993 GT2
In a previous post a while back you all very kindly gave me advice on tuning a 993 GT2. The consencus was leave well alone. The midnight Blue 1996 car that I was looking at did not pan out and in truth I talked the guy into keeping it. What else was he going to buy that would be better ?. Anyway I might not have bought a car but I made a new friend.
I have still been searching and today after a very thorough inspection I have done the deed and bought a 993GT2EVO 1998 car. She is in Ocean Blue Metallic and looks absolutely stunning. When I saw it for the first time in Fearnsports workshop I just thought that looks the absolute dogs dangly bits. One german owner from new with 21K kilometers on the clock. Here's some pictures but they just don't do the paint justice. Only thing found to be wrong was the diff was not working. This will be rectified in with the price of the car.

Nice buy! It's a great looking car and rare as hell.
I think you had to buy a Ruf to get anything close to that in the US. Ruf used those same fender flares on its 993 car. I think it had around 550 or 580hp.
What is the GT2 packing?

I live in the UK.
Porsche built 21 GT2 Evo's. They ran K24 turbos instead of the K16's on the '96' GT2's. 450bhp instaed of 430bhp. They were built to homologate the cars for the GT1 class running 600bhp. The Evo's had different heads and run much highter lift on the camshafts. I only have a couple more pictures from the supplying dealer worth posting. More will follow when she's home. Yours still smiling, Graeme

Congratulations, this is a fantastic car, beautiful colour!
You are about to keep smiling for quite some time, it is great to have GT2 owners here.
I just wanted to say that the EVO that you are mentioning were the race versions not the road versions, which is the one you have. The street versions had no changes in cams and heads vs the previous 430HP engine. Just the KKK24 turbos and ECU programming.
You will need to pay attention to the wheels, they are Magnesium and are known to crack with time, it is just a matter of having them checked regularily.

AFAIK RUF never used the GT2 flares on its cars. And their RUF CTR2 has 520HP.
