It seemed to be modified by RS-tuning. At least I saw a non-stock IC.
Was it sold :
Privately -> Auction?
or
Privately -> Dealership -> Auction?

I do not know if the previous owner was a dealer or just a collector.
Otherwise there was no dealer involved.

Maybe an "Auction" has a different meaning. This was open for public and not a dealer to dealer auction.

The guy also had a 3.3 Turbo S, 993 RS, 993tt, 996GT3 - all where sold that day.

Well finally at last I am going to Silverstone tomorrow to collect the GT2. The car is all sorted and ready. The stone chips have been done, new diff plates fitted, full geometry carried out after lowering it to the correct heights, fresh oil and brake fluid. I have a UK registration number. I just hope it does not rain, I know this sounds a little pathetic but I really am very, very excited.

Not pathetic at all to be excited - I would be coming out of my shoes. Have fun with it.

Well I've done a few hundred miles in the GT2 fairly gentle and today I started to give her some stick. F**k me I am suprised. Much much quicker than I thought she would be. The acceleration is phenominal. My 964 3.6 is not exactly slow with a few minor tweaks but nothing like this. OK I can't vouch for the age of the tyres but 2nd gear it gets a bit sideways as she starts to light them up. I took a mate out this morning who used to own a maritime blue 964 3.6 turbo and he was gobsmacked. When we got back to his house he said that the last time he'd been in anything as quick as this was another mates 996GT2 which supposedly has 570bhp. He then said what does this make 550bhp. I said no she's completely original with 450bhp. I am absolutely amazed. I have driven some very quick cars over the years but this is awesome. I'll have to try and get some mph related acceleration times to try and make some sense out of this.

Graeme, looks fabulous

If you can go through the trouble, the anorak in me would love to know what your car weighs (full of fuel) - This may be the key to the ballistic performance feeling....
A 996 GT2 weighs around 1480kg so if the tuned one had a (more likely) 520 tuned hp its power to weight ratio is ~357hp/tonne.
If yours comes out near 1300kg then your ratio is 352hp/tonne. The on/off nature of the 993 K24 torque delivery will accentuate the "thrust" in the 993....
