Smile Upgraded TT just arrived....

Have just got back my 'obsession' after having had it modified somewhat.

Originally purchased this car 2 months ago with 14000miles on the clock.

As new not a mark on it anywhere.

Upgrades include racing clutch kit with lite flywheel, hydraulic lifters, sports cams, oil cooler upgrade, modified Motronic ECU remap, modified turbos,5bar fuel pressure regulator, Fabspeed 100 cell sport cats and Maxflo mufflers plus hi performance airbox system.

First dyno readings were 580 hp but subsequent ones were 550hp

Certainly quick enough for me at any rate and the exhaust note caps the package off......rich mid range throb at idle .

Must say that I am very happy with my 'little Black Beastie Boy'

Sounds that you have now a great performance car!
What is that "hi performance airbox system", do you have pictures from it?
Still using MAF based ECU control?

js.......air system was from Fabspeed, and not sure about the MAF based ECU control, all I am aware of is that the original Motronic ECU was modified.

Bottom line is, that it now pulls like mad all the way.

Hal....these are modified K16s...apparently spin faster and work more efficiently than the K24s.

I didn't think modified K16s could get a car to 550 HP. I would like to know how this was accomplished since I have Kevin's K16/24 hybrids. Of course I don't have his tuning but even with his tuning 993TTs are not making 550 HP.

iborroel...I cannot answer the tech side as I am not that conversant with it, but I have noticed that modified Garrett K16s "utilise a billet wheel, custom backplate along with modified wastegate and is capable of flowing 600hp.
These turbos spool faster yet create as much if not more flow than the K24s"

This was from a tech web page...sorry I cannot answer fully, but that is all I know.

My thoughts exactly. I have Kevin's hybrids as well. I have not dyno'd my car, but we estimate about 480hp. I had heard that you needed the K24's to get over 500.

I did not think Kevin turbos were Garrett, but KKK's

Have you joined PCNSW yet? Are you going to track it?

Its not that i dont believe you - (or Fitzy for that matter) i just want another ratbag to hang with - ESPECIALLY if your local!!!

Where in Sydney are you based? And why Fitzys?

Simon.

Hi Simon,

Sent vehicle to Fitzy as he made the most sense when talking upgrade to him and didn't pull any punches.

No I won't be tracking it as I want to somewhat 'preserve' my 'baby', however I am not shy in using the gained KWs.

Robert
