Adequate for measuring acceleration and GPS speed, simple to use, cheap etc...

So far on the list:

G-Tech (Someone said DriftBox beats it all the way..)

DriftBox
AX22
AP22
DL1

If I'd write down all the features I'd want I would end up with a Full Motec Data + Display and still portable from car to car. So you can guess where this is heading..

I'm also a bit concered about the update in the units. I recall somewhere, that the DriftBox wasn't as accurate as the AX22?

Reading LapTimes without having to plug in a laptop would be nice, so I wouldn't need a transponder also.

In a nutshell the DL1 has no external display. But it allows for connection of a number of analog and digital inputs that are logged to the memory card. Thus you can record things like throttle position, brakes on or off, boost pressure, steering wheel angle, engine speed, oil pressure, oil temp, etc. But you need to install new or piggy back existing sensors to get this data so installation can be complex.

If you just want to measure speeds and acceleration go for the AX 22.

I have an unused performancebox for sale in the members for sale forum. The wife found out about this one and I've got to get rid of it

Traqmate, there's a group buy 20% off at the race/de forum. Supposedly very easy to use.
I got the Racepak G2X, not very intuitive to use.

Greg
Just sent you a PM.

Magnus, Greg, for straight line accel. I believe they are both as good (AX22 and DBox), and I would get the more inexpensive option. At the track, my experience with the driftbox was awful and unacceptable, but that is just me and what I need the logger for, so I would tell each one to go with what he feels comfortable with.
Cheers

Magnus

For my needs it has always been excellent. You can add a few sensors if you wish to make it perfect, nothing that I need really.

Jean
