Post Front Bumper Cover

I was searching the archives and came across this picture (sorry for the piracy) but I thought this was a great look and had not seen it before. Is anyone familiar with this front bumper covers origin? Ruf? I am thinking about this for a winter clean up project.

Thanks for the help.

Hey, that's my car...

Seriously though, I love the look of those chrome optic ruf wheels. I just wish they didn't weigh a ton or I would have got them.

I don't have a RUF turbo, just a "plain vanilla" turbo. *sigh*

Jeff 993TT

Thanks for posting that picture. I want to replace my tired bumper covers this winter and really like the Ruf look . Is that heresy for a plain old TT? Anyway that picture got me thinking upgrade . I am sure there is a safety issue in there somewhere.

I just got a response from the folks that handle the Ruf parts in NA. The bumper kit for front and rear (kevlar) all mounting hardware is 4000 USD plus 150 USD shipping and handling.

Default RUF bumper cover

Hi guys-
I just finsihed having the RUF euro front cover and turbo S wing installed on my Red 96 TT. IMHO it looks great! Cost was $1900 for the front cover(shipped free) from Weissach. That is only a few hundred dollars more than a front cover and splitters from MA Shaw- and the RUF is Carbon fiber/kevlar (?)- not fiberglass. Slightly more agressive looking spoiler and I love the side vents. I didnt get the rear cover because I had already deleted the bumperettes in the stock cover. Now that the front is installed, the first excuse (ding, scratch etc) I can find, I will get the RUF rear cover to match.
Dont know yet if the front vents will actually help provide cool air or venting for the aux oil cooler etc or not, but I doubt RUF put the vents there for looks only. Will be taking some pic today to post later.

I'll bet your car looks awesome, Road Runner. I've been kicking around some Ruf mods (body kit and Turbo R upgrade) for quite a while (and working on the wife'$ authorization, too). While navel gazing last weekend, and in the childish hope that creating a photo album will dissipate my Ruf-lust, I created an album of various Ruf Turbo pictures I've come upon on the web, mostly Turbo R's with the CTR nose, as you've just done.

The album is here Click on the Ruf photo album, third image at top right

Any issues with curbs, etc, and the new front spoiler? It seems to stick out a little farther than the OEM Turbo S spoiler lip, which I've added. One of the pictures I found shows a Red Turbo with the Ruf bodykit, although this car has a different and interesting rear wing which is similar but not identical to the OEM rear wing, note in the picture how the sides of the wing continue to rise, rather than flatten as on the OEM one, it looks pretty good. I've also seen some folks place mesh screens in the front and side openings of the Ruf front spoiler, curious as to whether you've done the same or whether the Ruf kit comes with the screens.

Anyway, post pics ASAP!
