Interesting point. I drove a 500+ hp 993tt and the digital boost gauge showed 0.8 bar almost imediately. But the power was not really overwhelming.

More boost does not automatically mean more power at least not in a linear way.

I still think the g-force when accelerating and braking is more linear to the fun you have.

Simple. Just say to yourself three times "My valve guides are worn out" and it will be time to replace them. Works for me anyway to help justify my mods...

Based on all the valve jobs that we do here in-house, they are likely already worn out,...

We just did a 993 N/A with 3800 (yep) miles on it and the exhaust valves wobbled around in the stock guides before we installed our P-B ones. From experience, this is not unusual. At least this gentleman didn't have to buy any new valves.

When you need a valve job, it does become an opportunity to do some modifications such as high-flow intake valves that bump intake airflow over 20%.

Stummel you do realize that .8bars is all she will read?? It was most likely reading more but the stock OBC won't show a higher value/reading.. Pete has a aux boost gauge..

Kevin I do know that 0.8 is the max read.
What I wanted to say is that my stock tt needed at least 3400+ rpm to show 0.8 bar.
The "500hp" tt showed 0.8 bar immediately but did not have that much more torque at low rpms.

Just because you see 1.2 bar boost does not mean that you are fast (only makes it more likely ...)

There are alot of things that can cure the boost/lag..

Tuning is one, turbochargers in another.. Even if you start with the same turbochargers you can port the turbine housings and install a wastegate modification, you can follow the DIY head/heat exchanger mod, install free flow mufflers, install large 130mm cats.. I can get good results with my zero clearance process..

These mods on the same engine will reduce the lag, and give you an instant response
