Turbo993 these are my thoughts exactlty!
But my thoughts take it to the next level!
I don't really want to get started about on-line auctions or auctions in general (misrepresentation, hidden damage, paperwork, shills, etc.)
I know that these issues are possible for private sales also but a smart buyer can usually avoid most disappointments and pitfalls that are associated with auctions.

Well, like I have said- I am back looking again........

Hatch and sons in Boston had a 10k mile Arena red that didn't sell for a long time, that I just saw somewhere else.... Sorry cannot remember where, but you might call them to track it down if you are interested. Arena red, tan interior. 10k ish miles.

That blue one was nice. 90s is crazy, though.

stedge: The car you are talking about is on Ebay right now.

Cruzrmm: Might be worth a look. By the way it's a Turbo S.

Two different cars, the S is at www.copleymotorcars.com and the normal twin with 11k miles is at www.motorcars-intl.com , and in fact that car I believe is the car that was at Hatch and Sons , the one just mentioned with 10k miles, Bob Hatch sold his business and I think Motorcars just bought it, they are in Missouri... Man , I have too much time on my hands.

Nope - that is a different car. The "S" is at Copley. The tt I was thinking of was stock, if I recall, and a regular tt.

Now as I took time to look I see notification of SH's post - you are right on.

Too much time - that's a nice problem to have!

Thanks for the lead.
The miles sound great, but-
Going to stick to the black or gray interior choice.

I was willing to go the Reserve for $90K
I figured it was worth a premium price for the exact color and options that I hope to find.
I don't think that there were many '97 ZENITH Blue TT's built.

Within hours of my bid that matched his Reserve price he closed the auction.
Sellers on E-Bay remind Buyers that the "Auction is a legal and binding contract...... Don't bid unless you have the cash.... etc, etc, etc" all of the enforcement disclaimers. But the Buyers have no recourse if the Reserve is met!

Yes, I have seen both of these TT's but again I have passed because the interior color is not what I want.

Place a call to Truspeed in Orange county (California). These guys were very helpful to me when I was looking for my first 993TT 3+ years ago, and seemed to be able to find cars that were not yet on the market, if they don't happen to have what you are looking for in their inventory. Sorry... I don't have their phone number handy.

Thanks Steve,

I'll give them a call.
I did call and e-mail numerous Porsche and specialty/exotic dealers when I first started looking for a TT, but I don't think that I contacted them.
Truspeed Motorcars
375 Bristol St Ste 30
Costa Mesa, CA 92626-7904
(714) 424-0251

And I agree that it will probably be a TT that has not been placed on the open market for sale.

Cruzrmm,

I see that you are (were?) actively pursuing that Arena Red 993TT on eBay... the 1:18 model! Its over $76 now, with 3 hours to go. Good luck on BOTH of your 993TT purchases.

Yes, I was bidding on both of the die cast models (just need 1 LOL!).
I figured that they would sell sell $50 - $60
Kind of surprised that $76 and maybe higher.
Seems a little high, what are these worth usually?

Cruzrmm,

Yipes... over $81 with another 1:40 to go on that arena red UT model. I haven't been following these closely since I purchased two of them some years back (~$30.00), but when I look at the "completed auctions", they are all around $125+. Wow. A better investment than my stock portfolio! Do an eBay search for "UT Porsche 18", and you'll catch several others coming up soon.

Talk about WOW!
SOLD for $148.49!!!!!!!!
I bid it up to $120 and thought that was crazy.
I looked at a couple that sold a month ago and they were going $80 - $90 with some higher.
