Default T-Turbo 3.6 pistons ?

Hi all,
I'm wondering how a TT piston looks like !
I can imagine it's the same one than one the previous 3.6 ?

A photo of both would be great

Thanks for any picture/info !

Previous 3.6 turbo engine? Like from a '94 965?

The major difference is that the 993TT piston protrudes into the cylinder head .250" The combustion process is contained inside of the cylinder head.. Compression is higher with the TT.

Here is a picture of a 993TT piston, this one is from a 3.8Ltr. but they both have the domes.
The 964 Turbo 3.6 piston had a flat head and lower compression as mentioned by Kevin. However, the N/A 964 3.6 ltr. piston was quite similar to the one in the picture attached as well (with domes).
Hope it helps.

Just saw this photo. My God, who holds a Piston like this and machines on it? Hope it wasn't one of yours. Are you kidding me. Have they not heard of Piston vices, or made a better fixture.

Jean, I' glad to hear they are not yours. I have never seen anything like that before. This falls under the heading, if you cannot to it properely, do not do it at all.

Simon, I would not be worried either since my car still manages to beat anything that crosses my path, and keeps up easy with an ex-world champion GT3 Supercup on one of the most demanding F1 tracks on Earth

FWIW, many years back we used to hold the camshafts between our knees and grind them. It was not very comfortable, but the cars did run great afterwards, one has to make the best out of what he can afford or find I guess.

Thank you guys and specially Jean for the pic.
I would like know life duration of the engine after a good boost has been set ))

I'm still building my special wild thing to come and beat Jean and I try to understand anything Porsche did on turbo engines these last years.

I would like to see on of these flat 3.6 pistons, and also to see a 996 TT piston

I will send some pics of my current work, I'm sure you will like it.
