That wrecked exotics website is pretty wild. I wonder how they get all of those photos from all around the world. Plus, some owners are such dip****s. In some instances, after seeing the photos, you know they felt inviceable and pushed the car beyond its limits, and they were certain to bite the dust. Like the yellow porsche with the telephone pole sitting half way into the car where the drivers seat once was!

I am always amazed at photos like these, and how well the 993 absorbs the impact and keeps the cabin in shape (well on most of them anyway).

I believe the previous owner of that car was on Rennlist and the actual series of events that landed him in that situation were nowhere near as dramatic as the picture implies. I do recall him being very humble and honest, the car was new to him as well.

Maybe I'll search through the archives to dig up the post. I recall everyone just being glad he survived!

I spoke to the telephone pole recipient, he had a combination of wet roads (standing water),
a modest speed (60 mph in a 50 zone) and bald tires!! (he had just purchased the car). nearly
same thing happened to me: I bought car in New orleans, Rear tires looked good enough for
drive home, (but not in the rain), car would hydroplane at 60 mph on bald s02's. I had to keep
speed below 60 in rain from Des Moines, Ia to Mpls, Mn (5 hours) of terrifying spinning and
drifting. Tires are everything!
