Angry Spent 2hrs on net today looking for turbo rebuild kit, please help

Ok, don't know what RTFM is, but this is how I feel. Went to various sites, google searched, even ebay. All I'm looking for is a place I can buy rebuild kits for my two K16's. I remember back when I owned a 951 Automotion use to sell rebuild kits. Not any more.

Can anybody help me find authentic KKK rebuild kits (no Korean equivalents or the likes please) with decent prices?

thanks in advance

Jaime

I think it stands for "Read The F*cking Manual",

But I have no idea where to buy rebuild kits
You probably get better results searching rennlist than google though..

How would you go about re-balancing the sharft @ 100,000 rpm once you've finished the rebuild?

The best advice I can give you is to call Kevin of Ultimate Motorworks (zeroclearance@direcway.com). He has addressed the K16 clearance issues that come in all factory k16s and lead to premature failure and leaking around the sealing rings. He can also advise you of any upgrade you may want.

Hi. Thanks, I'll give Kevin a buzz.

My Brother rebuilt his turbo on a 944T. He has a balancing gizmo which he uses to balance larger scale jet engine turbines (models). Works like a charm! He has zero issues with his rebuild. He got his rebuild kit from ebay about 3yrs ago.

thank you, Jaime

Jaime:

I'd also suggest talking with Kevin about your turbos.

There are several things that can be done to improve performance as well as durability/longevity and this guy REALLY knows these things.

He's a 24 kt person in every respect.

Kevin is well versed in all aspects of our cars.

My only beef with him is he is a K24 hater. I would love to have him do some stage 4 work on my K24's but he declined. I do understand his POV though. It just does not apply to me.

I sent Kevin an email. While I await his response, does anyone know if he has a website so that I can learn about his various stage programs, etc.,? I looked for "Ultimate Motor works" in Washington area, but did not get to a web site.

Would appreciate it.

kevin is the best, however all communication is done thru e-mails because he is so busy. the subject
of turbos can get quite complicated which is why you need to call and talk to one of the rennlist
sponsors (like steve at rennsport above), who can help you weed thru your specific needs. my example being i had one turbo leaking oil and since i was pulling one to rebuild and i want to
smoke my buddy's acr viper....I now have kevin's stage 2 zero clearance (amoung other things)
