Default 993 TT found

Hi everyone it looks like I've bought a 96 TT, its polar silver/blue with 30k miles and is having the 30k svc. done now. I'm having them do the comp/leakdown test while it's in for the svc. I don't know much about it yet except that it's a one owner with K24 turbos, and the mechanic at the Porsche dealership that is doing the svc. said it's very nice and he would buy it himself, the mechanic isnt affiliated with the car as its not being sold by his dealership. I thought the price was fair at 59k delivered to my door, the mechanic is going to email me the codes so I can decode them to see what options it has, anyway keep your fingers crossed for me that everything checks out OK on this car and the deal goes through. You will like the K24's even better if you remove the cats! The difference was amazing!

Hi Rob I sold my white TT about 6 mos ago To a guy named Foster in CO as a matter of fact the car I'm looking at is in CO and Foster is going to go look at it for me today as its close to where he lives and he and I are on the same page as far as what condition means, he bought my car sight unseen and had no inspections done nor did he have anyone look at it for him he called me after it was delivered to thank me for being honest about my discloseure of the cars condition. I'll update my profile after I get a new TT is anyone familiar with this car it was originaly sold in FL. and then went to CO, polar silver/midnite blue 30k miles vin is WP0AC2999TS375614 Thanks Doug

I just bought a local Calif. TT 3 weeks ago and I watched the market for a few months in advance of my purchase. So here's my $.02 worth....
The price is quite reasonable for a low mileage TT in excellent condition. Porsche dealers aren't prone to offering quality cars at reasonable asking prices, and that car wasn't on Autotrader 2 weeks ago, so they haven't been marketing it for very long. In Autotrader's add, and on their own website, they posted a generic photo. They offer no description of the car in either add. Have they sent you any actual pics of the car? I clicked on the Carfax report and although my subscription has expired, it showed 18 records for the car. That's a lot. Did you pull that report, and if so what's does it say? Also, since the dealer is the seller, I would strongly suggest that you have a PPI from an outside source look it over including the body/paint for any accident work. That is of course, if your friend with your previous TT likes it.
Sorry to sound skeptical, but that's how you should be thinking. I hope it turns out to be a fabulous car; then it's a really great deal.

i think that is a very low price, especially from a dealer, especially for a silver car - i think silver trades higher. Perhaps the blue is not as in demand, but it is still cheap. Get the records for who put the k24s on .. did they do the chip as well? I looked at a polar/blue TT which was in Chicago, so i didnt see this one.
just check everything out.

That is an incredible price!!! I bought a 91 Turbo for that amount not long ago! If this is representative of 993 Turbo prices in the USA, then I think I might be buying myself a 2nd 993TT for a track only car ala Viperbob. Are you guys really seeing prices like this around? What about a "high" milage car like 60k miles?

Hi Rob I'm having a full PPI done by Prestige Porsche includeing compression and leakdown, they are just finishing up the 30k svc. Prestige isn't the dealer selling the car, Ive still got some questions for the selling dealer its supposed to be a one owner and if you look at the carfax its states that, but it did 27k of the 30k on the odo. up til 1999 then went to CO. and has only 3k miles since then I also need to find out about the records on the car etc. like I said in my previous post the mech.at the Porsche dealership who is doing the work on the car says that so far everything looks good and my buddy will be looking at this afternoon for me, the mech. is going to take out to lunch and put some miles on it and see how it drives he said that the computer didnt show any fault codes, if everything checks out OK I will buy it if not I will continue my search for me half the fun is the search even if it can be a pain in the a$$ Doug

I ran the options on the car and it has m6d midnite blue floor mats, p11 self diming mirrors/rain sensor, xf6 leather center consol, x43 leather consol switch frame, x70 metal door sills, z95 titanium/black brake calipers, 680 digital sound, 692 remote CD changer, 982 supple leather, A8 polar silver metalic top. It doesn't have alot of options but its enough for me its been lowered also but it sounds like its just lowering springs on stock struts Doug

Doug,
The PCOA area 9 coordinator for the greater Denver area is Tamala Cash @ 303-554-7464, e-mail @ tcash@healthaxis.com .
I would ask her if she know's the car. 3k miles in the past 4-5 years means it's either been a well-cared for garage queen, or it's known the local tracks.
