Purchasing a 1997 993 turbo S
Hello fellow members,
I'm in the market for a 1997 1993 turbo S in next few months. I recently found
two websites that have these cars are for sale. RPM Sports Cars and Sloan Cars. Has anybody done business with these non-porsche dealers. Any comments & feedback would be a big help. I live in orange county, california. If anybody out here as any turbo S for sale. I would be very interested.

I have had very postive experience with RPM. If what you want is pristine cars that is certainly the place to go. As close to new as you can get. Is it possible to find the cars on your own that are sold at RPM, maybe, but what value do you place on your time?
With Sloan although I never bought from him I was considering selling at one point an 02 speed yellow targa I had. Sent him some pics which he posted on his site then a few weeks later he moved the pics to his "recently sold" area I went to my garage and checked...still there...makes you wonder what would cause him to do something like that...I checked the site as I type this and he still has it in the recently sold...

"MB97TTS" mentioned on page 5, post 65, of the "Let's see your turbo" thread, which you'll find further down on the first page, that he was considering selling his "S". He's in Newport Beach. You can search for him under that title and send him a message.

One of our Rennlist members (oldguy) bought a 993TT from Sloan, and the deal was not very satisfactory. Do a search for "sloan" or PM oldguy for more details.

I think I saw the car Saturday morning in Newport Beach. White, same miles, must be the car. If you still need the info, I will get it if I see the car next weekend. BTW, this car is very very nice!

The white 'S' for sale is owned by a guy named Paul and is a PCA OCR member. Last time I saw the car, he wanted $115K for it. It is clean and really low mileage.. Let me know if you'd like me to track him down for ya..

I bought my TT from a person who said he purchased it from RPM site unseen. It was the most immaculate black 97 TT I saw in 7months of intense searching. I'd stay away from Sloan. I havent heard one good experience nor anything free from suspicious behavior.

Ray Joseph at RPM came into town and bought my red 94 turbo S 3.6 flachbau and my red 97 TT S. I found him to be an honest gentleman and to have very high standards. He does not deal in crap only seems interested in top quality cars. I would buy a car from him in a second. I got sellers remorse and tried to buy both my cars back only to learn they were sold quite quickly.
I like many of you have never heard of a positive experience regarding Mr. Sloan and have seen my silver 97 TT S with 434 miles advertised on his website when it has not ever been offered for sale by me nor have I ever discussed selling it with him.

Les,
Given up on red? Sorry to see you sold both red S's.
I have met Richard Sloan, a bit out there. He has a nice Cobalt blue S for sale, asking to much though. He does not run his web site he hires a woman I sold my 914 to who updates it for him. She probably got the info wrong might want to inform him of the error.
