Default Wastegate adjustments???? Kevin please help!!!!

Who can offer any insite on how to check the adjustment of the wastegates on my K24's?

I also have a 10 lbs wastegate spring kit that I want to install. I was told to adjust the wastegates so they are closed at 11psi and start to move at 12 psi. Does this sound correct?

With the heavier springs the greddy boost controller (profec A) should be able to readjust itself. I would not recomend this if you use the factory controlled frequency valve.

There are some pretty good threads that I have written in the past about this subject. You will have to get a very fine regulator to sync both wastegates at once.. Apply the 10-11 lbs to both actuators, you will need to get a dial indicator to check when both wastegate flappers are lifting off there seats..

Thanks Kevin, I did look thru the past posts and learned a lot. Most of your previous posts on wastegate adjustments refered to stock K16's. I was not sure how my K24's may differ.

There was no info on the heavier springs. The adjustments all spoke of setting the wastegates at .5 bar so this was of no help on the 10 lb springs. Thanks again for your 2 cents I feel more comfortable taking on the wastegate upgrade now.

From your instruction to adjust when moving this is measured at the flapper off the seat.. Alot more accurate vs just off the arm.. The most important thing is the sync between the 2 turbo's.. When using a tee and supplying pressure to both accuators, you will be able to see the flappers start unloading off the wastegate seats. You will have to get a helper being that the turbo's are on the car..

Never thought to do both at once with a tee. Great suggestion! I should be able to get the both set up exactly the same!

Only problem is that you need two dial indicators.... Good luck with the setup...

I got that part covered.

Good luck with the new shop Bob. I will be there for the open house! I forgot to call you today to let you know I managed to pry an ECU from a friend for my car. I could not wait for one to come from Germany. He said he would not sell it (till I started counting 100's under his nose).

Bob, I see your logic. Being that you can lock the regulator at lets say 10.5 lbs.. If the drivers gate just started to lift.. Look at your reading on your dial indicator (drivers side).. Bleed pressure off the regulator and re-position the dial indicator of the passenger gate.. Sync it to the drivers side measurement.. Using a second dial indicator is the cats meow, most people have a hard time buying the first one..

Look at the brite side. Dial indicators use to cost lots more money. Quailty manufacturing has driven down the cost of such items to a reasonable level.

Thanks again for your help kevin. I am fortunate enough to have access to 2 dial indicators.

Out of curiosity, how much do these dial indicators run?
