Vive Italia....YESSSS

I believe that Race Technology used to recommend smaller cards, les than 128MB.

I cannot remmeber why I remember this. I am away from home and have no way to verify but thought I should mention it.

Cheers from Berlin

Default Thank You Jean

I will make many runs this next week in Nevada where I have a highway closed to traffic and with no speed limit. I will take a few flash cards as a precaution.
I hope to get a 0-200 run..certainly a 150-200 run and of course a 60-130.
Many thanks to Jean and Bill S.

Cheers

Marty

I drove the CTR-2 for about 600 km over two days in the South of Germany. We chose to fly to Berlin. I am thinking of coming up again on the 27th to see the F1, interested?

BTW, the car is amazing, I was only driving two lane Autobahn road so I kept it under 200 kph. Runs and handles like a new car, the gauges EGT and Intake temp are great to monitor as are boost and fuel pressure. Nice set up all around. Will post pictures at a later date.

I'd love to know what intake/egts you are seeing under on/off boost.

James, interesting that you ask.

When I first bought my car in 04 I read a thread on this site where someone said that the CTR2 set up was abandoned because it was ineffective in cooling.

My findings to date are the opposite. On the Autobahn the intake temp was about 5 dec C above ambient other than under full boost where it will spike to 50 deg for a sec then back down very quickly.
The probe is located in the middle of the two intake horns in front of the MAF. I don´t have others experiences with intake air temps or other references however I find this performance very good. The other plus of this design are the fans that are now on the bottom of the intercoolers that come on when temp reach a point. They are worth about 20 deg C in stop and go traffic. In stop and go I saw about 10 deg C above ambient on a 30 deg C day in Stutgard.

The egt, was a steady 600-700 with spikes to 925 under full boost. Ruf says up to a 1050 deg max for egt based on where the probe is located.

I like to monitor and the new gauge pod allows me to do so. The gauges are HKS models with 180 sec memory for playback.

LAT,
sounds like RUF set you up with a very potent, (yet drivable) package.
Amazing stuff they build!!!

Well.......did JJay manage to get a "continuous run" measurement ?

Can we see the graph ?

Has this topic ground to a halt now with only a handful of cars being tested ?

What happened to that Group Buy on 6Bling - have they all measured their cars and realised that their 600/700/800/??? hp are in fact more like 550 ?

This is embarrassing, its not a p!ss!ng contest - who cares who is fastest ? its about seeing how fast individual configurations are........

Come on guys

Ha! I was thinking the same thing! I suppose I would be annoyed if I spent alot of money on mods and found my car was really not as fast as some others. That's why I went with Ruf and you with RS Tuning. You get what you pay for.

I know Jim's Andial car is faster than my Ruf. I'd like to see his graphs too. I would guess he's comfortably in the 7s for 60 to 130.

My CGT buddy bought an AX-22 so we'll do more tests over the next few weeks. I'll be able to get the CGT again, an F430 and a new Z06. I might also be able to get an Enzo. That would be cool.

Well here we go with a new run by DKnebes.. Temperature about 80 degrees, run at 22PSI of boost, car weighs 3010 lbs. Based on my calculations I can confirm what David mentioned to me, there was a slight uphill. Runs done in continuous mode and well calibrated.

Time 60-130mph: 6.52 seconds!!

Time 100-200kph: 5.62 seconds

This makes it the second fastest for a Porsche and first for an air cooled 911 that I know about...Congrats David.

Out of the three runs that I saw, the best 60-130 run I have seen from Jim was in the low 9s. There was one run up to 127mph that looked somehwat faster, but based on my calculations would yield similar results of low 9s. Jim broke something in his gearbox unfortunately and could not do more runs, he does have a GT2 wing which will have an impact on timings.

Awesome run for DKnebes thankyou for sharing

I guess the higher third gear helps (compared to stock 993tt) in being right in the "sweet spot" as one crosses 60mph - but very very fast everywhere

Jean
Has the Proto 996tt run actually been confirmed as correct ? If yes, what number did we settle on, was it the 6.3s ? Can you post another clear graph of that for comparison ?

Do we get to see JJay's graph ?

TB
The Protomotive 996TT in 6.3 seconds is confirmed as far as I am concerned) based on the data I have analyzed. The run was made at 1.2 Bar. Here is the graph below.

I can see another 0.3-0.4 seconds shaved from the shifts, which are very slow. There is clear traction loss as well in the form of creep in long Gs and also moderate movement in lateral Gs. I have not asked about the weight of the car for this specific run but "my guess" would be around 3200lbs.

JJayB is travelling I believe, once he is back he will post if he wishes the graphs.

David's run above is truly fantastic, all the way to 140mph.
