Most bike riders are too big to achieve magazine numbers. I have a friend witha Hyabusa that can only get 168 MPH on radar with his bike. He is 6' 4" and about 250 lbs. Another rider got on the same bike and got 186 MPH. He was 5' 7" and about 145 lbs. If you can't become the paint on the bike you can never achieve the numbers.
I have fun with many bike rides, I ride, and have had many sport bikes in the past and on a bike over 100 MPH it is all areodynamics, spelled the rider.

From the graph, above down:
1 My gt2 with 1 shift run
2 Bill's stage4 996tt with regular 2 shift run(Note: graph shows his car is just as fast as mine, he has a higher rev limit and the previously posted difference in time between the 2 cars is entirely related to gear-shift time)
3 Stock Viper SRT10(yellow line) tested in Phoenix in 100 degF heat
4 '87 930cab with IA stage2 engine
5 Stock 996tt(nonX50)
PS We should abandon '1 shift runs' because they are artificially low.
Send me your *run files and stats and I will post comparisons! Send to

So are your 1 shift runs done in 3rd then 4th ?
I didn't realise the gearing was so different between the 993tt and 996tt.
I have emailed you my run again - I can't understand it, I mailed it to you, Guy R and Jean and none could read it, yet I sent it to Race Tech (to ask about the error message) and they got it and read it no problem.
Are you using the same software V6 which came on a disc with my unit ?
BTW the error message was nothing, they replied:
I\'ve checked the data and it 100% fine... however you need to go to the car options and uncheck the box that says "auto zero the accelerometers" as this assumes that the car is stationary for the first 1 second of the run - which is not true in this case. If you uncheck this the warning will disappear.

Yes, 1 shift runs done in 3rd then 4th. Thanks for emailing the file again. I'll check it tonite. The last file seemed very small, I could open it ok but there was very little data. I'll take a better look this time -- maybe some of the checkboxes have been disabled somehow? I'll do a text dump. Yes I have the latest v6 software. It was a 'continuous run' wasn't it? I have Guy's old files, I'll post a comparison to my car.

Ok, here is the EVO750 tested in Phoenix in 100 degF heat and compared to Guy's Nardo and Bill's stage4. Interestingly, most of Guy's advantage over Bill is due to being able to stay in each gear longer! Guy you must have a very high redline - 7300 as I calculate!

This is a graph of speed versus time, zeroed to the point when each of the 3 cars is travelling 60mph and following each one until they reach 130mph. The fastest is a 996tt with garrett turbos, bigger injectors, bigger throttle body, bigger air tubes -- ie EVO750 kit. Second fastest is Gt2 with Ruf Nardo 590HP kit and slowest is 996tt with K24, exhaust and ECU -- EVO stage 4 kit

In fact Guy's GT2 is shifting at about 7100RPMs to get those speeds. The GT2 has wider 315 tires most likely, and can reach 77-78mph at 7,100RPMs in 2nd. and seems like he shifted a bit before cut-off in 3rd at around 112mph.
The Gt750 is shifting at around 6800RPMs and seems to have 295s.It is pulling very strong in 3rd compared to the RUF. He also seems to have wheel spin in 2-3rd. and 3-4th. after shifting, it appears to me that the car is very peaky..
The Stage 4TT shifts are really poor, I amsure he could improve his times by 0.5s at least with more decent shifts, don't forget a slow shift is also dropping RPMs.
I am sure Konstantin our resident telemetry guru would know much better.
It would be nice to see TB's line as well with the bunch.
Thanks for posting, this is one of the most interesting posts I have seen yet.

I would Love to have some other data to analyse. I must say, this is a refreshing change from the Bling-Bling forums
