I think this officially says. We have entered the era of the $100k narrow body 993. Coupe, manual, and serviced to some degree.

The prices will go up even faster if we start the trend of calling them normal body rather than narrow body.
There really isn't anything narrow about them.

that price surprises me, even at this point. besides the slate gray, that is an ordinary 993NB in all respects with 72k miles. the 993NB has always trailed the 964NB in the market, but this is 964 price territory. with the WBs trading consistently in the 6 figures, this is now the 993 that's [somewhat] accessible in this tide.

imagine a 993 on the road in 8-10 years when more than half the people are all in electrics. it will be special.

72ish thousand miles. Note that the car had an inoperative odometer for a bit and was clearly identified in the write up as TMU!

Leaving aside the price for a moment, I don't see anything glaringly wrong with the car in the pictures (which are quite dark and limited in their scope). Looks like its on stock suspension. The rock deflectors need to be replaced, and the drivers seat is missing a plastic cover. These are minor things, but if they haven't addressed the easy bits, they likely haven't gone after the more costly and labour intensive stuff either. At 100,000 miles if the seats show "no wear" maybe they've recently been re-dyed, which isn't a bad thing, but may not be as durable as the original finish.

All the usual buying advice and due diligence applies. Check the service records to get an idea of what kind of near future expenses you can anticipate. Distributor rebuilt? When were the plugs and wires last changed? Have any of the suspension components or motor mounts been replaced? How olds the clutch? Are the door latches clicking? Any oil leaks (valve covers?) These are all things that will need to be addressed, if they haven't been already.

Then there's the asking price. I don't know where the market is at this exact moment, seems to be a fast moving target. But that seems like a relatively high price that would need to reflect, at the very least, an extensive maintenance history and absolutely turnkey solution, not a "fixer upper".

Thank you for your advice. I am very much in the research/learning mode. I am going to make a checklist of the pointers you mention for when the time come to make a final purchase. I know Rennlisters are a very supportive community to check out local cars but I don't still feel comfortable buying a car without seeing it first and my job doesn't allow me to take a day to fly just to check out a 75% car... Hoping something springs up within 150 mile radius of Ohio.

Excellent point. I love the hips and shape they have as is. But for the WBs, one would never refer to these as narrow.

right, narrower than the WB 993 but wider than almost every earlier 911.
(not researched, just a wag based on looks. )

I had enquired about that car in TN by email multiple times and have had no reply. I had assumed that was because it had sold, but it has been listed for quite some time now. If it had been a 964 it would likely have disappeared. Good luck with your search.

Wow, just looking at the primary pics that driver's seat is wrecked and that engine bay doesn't look like it's been kept up at all.

Totally agree. Can't even be bothered to remove the leaves out of the engine lid before you take a pic.
