Default Current 993 demand data point - closing on eBay today

Anyone else watching this one? https://www.ebay.com/itm/283952165464?ul_noapp=true

Seems like the kind of solid car that was in very high demand 2-3 years back. Will be interesting to see if it sells and for how much. Is anyone here the seller? Or know who it is?

I'm watching, not going to bid but interested to see where the market might be. It looks nice but without PPI, hard to tell.

Currently RNM. If it stays that way, could be worthwhile to contact seller to arrange a PPI and negotiate. Agree it looks pretty clean and an interesting color as well.

Interesting. I Googled the VIN and it turns out it was sold on BAT a year ago - presumably to the current owner/seller. Paid $53,500 + $2,672 buyer's fee. Shipped it to Colorado and a year later it only has an additional 250 miles? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1997-porsche-911-31/

The BAT description has a few things not mentioned in the eBay auction, like a prior re-paint.

This shows the value of BAT platform vs. EBay - you won't get away with not disclosing a repaint. At least I hope so..

Seller should have taken the money.

Nice find. How much should a respray affect value (assuming there is no underlying damage or accident history)?

Looks to be a good car. It will sell fast based on seller and the items disclosed. I love the stance and OEM twists and Switchblades..!!! All a plus!!

What does everyone think of this? Seems like a good bargain?

Looks beat to hell and back. Look closely and you will see the oil pressure gauge pegged at 5 when it’s just idoling with nobody in it.

Can anyone share their ballpark estimation for this car? I have reached out to the seller. How much does a respray affect value? Recent NBs on BAT have sold for 63.5k (70k miles), 61k (59k miles), and 76k (39k miles, Aventurine Green). This includes the 5% buyers fee.

Any help would be appreciated. Please feel free to PM if more appropriate.

I think the BAT auction price reflected the repaint. I don't believe prices have increased over the last year too much, but those recent NB numbers are strong.

No mention of the repaint on the eBay auction make me a bit leery of the seller. And the BAT comments don't give a glowing review of the paint job. But its a nice color!
Only replacing two shocks? Cooper tires?

$60K is all of the money IMO. Makes Tarek's WB look good at $68K.

Further searching shows the seller is on Pelican - and possibly on here? If interested you can PM or call him. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-49k-mile.html

The BAT description also mentioned a dimple in the right rear bumper cover - which shows up in the photos but not mentioned on eBay. I'd be more curious about the one year lapse and move to Colorado with only an additional 250-ish miles. And why selling so soon after bidding it up on BAT?

Sir: as a 2x simultaneous owner of 993s ( I spent years looking and doing research) until recently my $0.02 on your inquiries is that a 100k mile trusted well sorted 993 4S will always be twice the car than a 993 NB with half the mileage. IMHO for aprox the same money you can get onto a 9934S than this 50k mile NB Carrera. I would reaxh out to Tarek or look at that variant before buying this NB Ocean Blue car.

For 993s unless braggin’ rights about low mileage is a point of importance, 50 or 100k miles is nothing on these cars. My 993 C2S has almost 200k miles on the clock, but it has equal fully documented dollars lifetime spent on maintenance and cosmetics and she looks like a 30k mile car. And that does it more for me than if she had 50k miles on the ticker with a repaint and questionable history gaps on the Car fax.

So take your time and color aside, I hope you make the right decision. I would not pay more than $60k for this car. It will always be a NB.

Good luck and PM me if you need any additional details other than the ones the collective here has already opined on.

Thank you all very much for your helpful replies. I have been very impressed with the 993 community here on RL and can't wait to have one of my own in the near future.

Tarek's example is very appealing, but I was hoping to avoid black. My daily driver is black and my OCD has a hard time handling how dirty it looks after a single day on the road.
