What is the best looking thing to style your 993 with?
I've been searching for aerodynamic styling for my 993 for quite a while now...
It seems like all Porsche tuning/styling companies sells the same stuff?
And it seems like all the "heavy, extreme" stuff is for the 996?
IS the hottest thing to style your 993 with a gt2 kit?
I'm not sure I like it...
Take a look at this baby, now we're talking.. Check out the front spoiler!

I think the fact that there's more 996 styling stuff is driven by:
a) economics - more 996s out there and anything ahead of the A-pillar also works on the Boxster, so better return on investment (design, mfg volume, marketing)
b) aesthestics - the 996 needs more help in differentiating itself. The 993, in its purest form, is already gorgeous, and doesn't need any help. I'm speculating that most 993 owners prefer the stock look.
IMHO, unless I'm doing some serious track work and need all the aerodynamic help I can get, I'm keeping the look pure (albeit with a lowered suspension).

Except for those weird headlight surrounds, I think that 996 looks fantastic! You can bet I'd be checking it out if I saw it in a parking lot, and I don't even like 996's that much.
I'm with Chris regarding the RS kit. It retains the classic look of the SC's and Carreras with their spoilers without detracting too much from the original lines.
I love the smooth lines on my narrow body. For me, even the subtle sculpting on the rocker panels and spoiler of the S bodied cars is not 100% ideal for me.

I dislike the stock narrow 996, however, I have always said I really like the GT3 RS style front spoiler. I think that car looks great except for the light covers (hate those!). I like my 993 but if I had a 996 I would have aero styling similar to picture.
As for the 993 there really isn't much than what has been mentioned. However, splitters up front some lower rockers on the side a various wing choices can really change the look.

I'm with you Mark. I think the side skirts on the S models dampen the waisted look, and from the rear, it would be hard for the casual looker to tell the difference without the badge. Prior to my owning a 993, I have thought many a narrow-body to be S's only to see the regular badge. Different strokes for different folks. I'm just glad that my preference turned out to be the cheaper one.

For non-S 993's, my favorite change is the Euro-Turbo bumper. Looks waaaay better than stock. Much more agressive, but without looking like a 'ricer'.
I saw a 996 with a bunch of tech-art stuff glued on and I really didn't care for it. All I could think was that he paid a ton of money to make his car heavier.

Once in awhile, I wish I have the Euro bumper, and then I park on the city streets (side parking) and look at the generic cars in front and behind of me, some of 'em a little beat up, and I'm glad I still have bumperettes to fend the drivers who park by the bump-and-grind method.

I'm going with Daytons and Vogues, a peanut butter top, curb scrapers and hydraulics........

why do you want to make your car hotter? If anything you want more cooling, or more air to flow through the front oil cooler. The GT2 front bumber will cool your brakes and oil a lot better than the stock front bumper. I believe the stock front bumper is as hot as you can get. The GT2 bumber will give you a lot of downforce in the front as well. This will really plant the front tires to the ground as you cruise downtown at 25mph.
on another note, why make your 993 "heavy, extreme". I would try to make it lighter, not heavier.
Seriously though, if you want to pose around town buy something like a ferrari or lambo, but please don't butcher a good 993.
