I just got so frustrated when being around 40 year olds acting like 15's..

All I asked is if the RS or the GT2 kit is the hottest thing to tune your Porsche with and what do I get in return?

Yeaaa baby, neon lights underneeth the car and bla, bla...

No hard feelings, I'm older then them.. Mabe not in age but defenitely in mind!

Heh.. I live in the South of England (Portsmouth is the closest city) and all I see all day and all night are rep mobiles (Vectras/Mondeos) and super minis (Fiesta/Saxo/Corsa) with Neons and big wheels and body kits (mostly in primer grey I might add) and I say "To each their own". I have a Calibra with a kit; stupid rear wing and 19 inch wheels. Built for a purpose it serves very well (and got it magazine featured too)... however when it comes to my C2 I like it stock. Sure mine has 18 inch BBS rims and has been lowered (badly) but it's pretty much stock and I plan to leave it that way... I LOVE the body and shape.
When I get the money I shall buy and -attempt- to run a 993TT.. wing and all. Again, it serves a purpose and I love that too... but Porsche made few mistakes when they styled these cars...

Man.. Do you drive a DeLorean?
How is that car to drive? Old? Fast?

I did drive it.. I no longer enjoy it. The technology behind the looks is... erm... well anyway, I'm selling mine so I can enjoy the Porsche more.

It drives like a 22 year old Lotus. Goes like a large car with 130bhp should do - okay but nothing special.

It's a great car to show off in but nothing more. I've had two over the last 6 years and I'm done for now. Lovely car (childhood dream) but lacking in more areas that I'm prepared to put up with for now (I'm spoilt by the "other" rear engined car!)

The DeLorean is really a case of all show and no go. For a fairly small car, it feels and drives like a HUGE car. The handling is pitiful and the acceleration in non-existent. Outward vision to the sides are rear are horrible! The electricals are a joke as the windows will go, followed by just about everything else. The positives are no wax is necessary, just wash and go and it has a rather basic Puegot engine so parts won't break the bank.

My dad bought his new in 1981 and it mostly sits in the garage. It has racked up a total of about 14K miles.

Miraculix, I gotta say that I didn't intend for you to take the cosmonaut comment so hard... I was just messing around with you. Please don't let people like me give the United States a bad name. It isn't as difficult as you might think to live in the same country as me, lots of people on this board can vouch for the U.S.

I really do like the 993 RS look, definitely the best way to go in my opinion.

If you want to spend even more money on a unique design, you could take your 993 in a direction inspired by this Stola boxster:

nicely put, JPL.

And that Stola is a work of art! That was the cover car for the May '03 GT magazine.

I like the wheels on the Stola.

The interior is a very good implementation of a modern interior, if you like modern interiors (in the style of the new Nissan Z)... although I like the classic, spartan, clean, racing interior of the stock 993 with it's all-analog gauges and controls.

Personally, my order of mods would be:
- Fire extinguisher (required for local PCA DE's)
- 3M stoneguard for rock-chips
- Aluminum Pedals from e.g. TechArt
- Extra set of 18" rims with R-compound Tires for the track (once you have already gotten good on a track)
- Roll cage plus racing seats plus 5-point belts
- "Clear corner" turn signals
- Front and rear RS or Turbo S aerokit (I like the fixed rear wings)
- 3-point steering wheel
- Cup-holder to replace cassette-tape-holder
- RSR exhaust
- Xenon headlights
- Aluminum instrument backplates

Also, lightweight flywheel and RS clutch (when/if the clutch wears out)
Also, pss9's (whenever the suspension wears out)

Even after all of that, your car would still have pretty much a stock look from the exterior.

I haven't necessarily followed this order of mods, btw.

- "Clear corner" turn signals (equipped)
- Front and rear RS or Turbo S aerokit (Front RS lips equipped)
- 3-point steering wheel (aluminium one, going to be equipped)
- Cup-holder to replace cassette-tape-holder (WOW! I can replace that?)
- RSR exhaust (Porsche "motorsound" +5-7hp equipped)
- Xenon headlights (going to be equipped)
- Aluminum instrument backplates (very hard winter project)

May I add some? (Going to be equipped)

It would be very nice to meet up somewhere but a trip to Skåne takes about 6 hours by car, 3 with Porsche..

I'm planning to go to a'lot of Porsche club activities next summer and some of them are in the south. I hope we can keep in touch and meet up at an event somewhere

Would be nice to do a Copenhagen cruize aswell with a bunch of Porsches, we'll see what comes with the spring/summer..

I am going to Helsingborg in Skåne sometime during the next few months (with my car on a trailer though). JTI Motorsport are going to remap my ECU for another 25 horsepower
