Thumbs down an old fart @ 32 thinks....

that 996 is in need of a track & some big sponsor decals... how 'bout "hooters"---- my 2¢ it's a P-car wanting to burn rice.

nah kiddin' aside it's a free world. what ever floats your boat.

my opinion: how long are you planning on keeping the car? history tells me------> alot of the molested p-cars of the past w/ kits... gotti wheels...white/red piped seats, burl wood interiors, etc.... tell me to keep my 993 simple & enhance what the car naturally is. Those cars have dated... i.e.-vanilla ice's white Gemballa on e-bay
but thats just me... & i'm planning on keeping my car for a while. (til i die)

my 993....doing/did mild tweaks: splitters & some small interior improvements, speed mods & some 19's for appearance. (kept the 18's for future track days)
but other than that............ i'm f i n e .

later, rich

I will chime in with the RS angle again... get the RS aerokits (wing, front, and sides), get some nice seats with 5-point belts and roll cage, 3-spoke steering wheel, aluminum pedals...

Also, if you can find it, a surplus cosmonaut pressure-suit from the former-ussr would be hot, heavy, extreme, edgy.

This will give the appearance that you know how to drive fast when you roll up to the nightclub or supermarket at 5mph.

JPL 993-C4S:
Your post started out interesting! The RS kit is awesome and I'm defenatly going to buy that RS Wing and sideskirts with air intakes. I've already got the front lips so I've already started.

What surprises me is this:

I'm sooo glad to be living in Sweden so I don't have to put up with you arrogant bastards on the road or at club meetings.

In Scandinavia we appreciate what people do with their loved ones, the more time they spend on it, the more they love it. Doesn't matter if the time they spend on it is waxing or modifying it with aeropackages, you still have respect for the man or woman who put a'lot of effort in trying to make their cars look better, especially Porsches.

Imagine this with:
18" turbo rims
Side rocker panels with air intake holes:

Only question is:
Wing or no wing..

I love the RS the way it is. Turbo body looks good too. Those side rocker panels look a little too 'rice', imho.

If I were to add a body kit, it would be either the RS kit, or this slightly improved version of the stock turbo panels:

I think the single piece front bumper looks very clean, and the rear spoiler is an improvement too. See the smoothed out section.

Cool this is a funny thread....

no need to get pissed... we all share a common love of the p-car.....

the RS treatment is tight!

why not do the the tail last?.... see what the car looks like w/o then proceed?... the side-skirt is nice.

r.

Exactly, that's what I was thinking..
It's very hard, the TT wing might look to BiG on a narrow body C2, right?

And just as a guys in the thread posted earlier, I wouldn't wanna put on a'lot of extra kilos, a TT wing is kinda heavy..

I agree that it is better to reduce weight on the rear rather than add it. I am considering a rear spoiler to REDUCE weight! I have felt the weight of a replica TT wing which was much LIGHTER than my stock lid. (This particular one came from the source in Helsingborg I PM'ed you about)

Agreed! I like it best straight from the factory, with the retractable spoiler too. Maybe some modest custom wheels, but that's it.

And many of us are glad we live in countries where people feel free to voice opinions, don't act like babies when an opinion that they asked for is not the same as their own, and even have something called a sense of humor.

Personally, I like the original 996 picture quite a bit, but without the cheesy stickers over the headlights. For a 993, I like the RS look.

Mod your car as YOU like, and stop worrying so much about what other people think.
