Hi,

I got my strut brace from Rennline at ~$155.00 on ebay. I'm very pleased with it and they stand behind their products - very good customer service.

I did strip one of the strut bolts putting it on! It cost me $90.00 to have it drilled out and a new one installed at the Porsche dealer!!!

I also bought their black anodized aluminum floor board and their "street" black anodized aluminum pedal set - both very nice!

Does anyone have pics of the techart roll bar for a cab.? Does it interfere with the wind guard? What do you think of the one made by Safety Devices?

TIA!

Thanks for all of your help guys. I have definitely decided to get a strut brace.

I think with a cab it just makes sense. I have read the other thread currently being run on suspension upgrades for cabs, but I don't buy it. If suspension upgrades caused problems for the frame of a 993 cab, we would have been hearing about it on this board long before now.

Thanks again, this place as always is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frank(ljugete),

Could you please post pictures of your "street" black anodized pedals if you have any?

Thanks

Robert, here's a recent similar thread including a picture of the AJ-USA bar.

The DAS bar is approved by PCA and other groups for use in track events. I do not believe it is any less safe than the Tech Art bar described above.

Tom,
I installed the DAS roll bar in my 911, and it's approved for PCA club racing. But I understand that the DAS may no longer be acceptable for PCA club racing in 993s and 996s. It has something to o with the floor mounts not being strong enough. You might check with Donna or Lance.

This topic was recently discussed on the 911 board where some thought the bar was illegal for 993's and 964's. (Click HERE for the link.) The DAS bar has recently been reapproved by PCA for club racing, with this info appearing on the DAS website:

PCA Club Racing: Legal
As of August 15, 2003, PCA tech stewards and DAS Sport have re-established this bars long time use in PCA Club Racing stock car classes. Click here to see the PCA Club Racing Rule Book, 2003 version.

Here is a DAS link that discusses the bar, as well as the PCA standing.

I have no affiliation with DAS, other than having one of their bars in my car.

I have the KLA Strut Brace (No Affiliation). IMHO, it gave my steering a tighter feel. The assy is beefier too but light weight. Price is the least expensive I've seen. Link above is the thread to it's discussion and the special offer that KLA gives to Rennlist members.
