I received the Classic Radio Navigation unit from Suncoast yesterday and installed it in about two hours.
The installation instructions are very good, so I'm not going to write a How-To, but one thing I found out during install is to not use the post that screws into back of the unit to protect the wire connections. It is too long and the radio won't fit flush with the IP face.
Sound is better than the CR210. Streams music clearly. Phone works great too.
Just finished installing, so I need to play with the other features for a more detailed review. So far I love it!

I have mine but car is getting a gearbox rebuild. If you have aftermarket amp you can order on Ebay a 4 channel terminal end that plugs into this unit for 13 bucks and you're good to go.
Also XM is supported too.

California Car Sounds in Campbell, CA installed the classic radio. They upgraded the speakers to Focal Flax PS-130F and added a Mosconi 4 channel amp (D2 100.4). They upgraded the crossovers to split the 4 channels across the front tweeters and woofers. I had already installed 4x6 Kenwoods in the rear shelf. The rears are powered off of the classic deck. The USB plug in is mounted above the switch gear for sunroof. The remote mike is on the steering column. They added some sound deadening to the door.
My 993 has the hifi option. The install uses all stock grills. The tweeter fit in OEM tweeter housing. This D-class amp is very compact, lightweight and doesn't generate much heat. The amp and crossovers fit cleanly under the passenger seat. I have all of the old parts including the OEM head, amp and speakers. The OEM rears and mids diaphragms had some holes from age.
I'm not an audiophile but the sound is very good and far better than the 20 year old OEM system. I expect this system sounds better than the OEM when new. The user interface on the classic radio is more intuitive than my other cars including my wife's 2106 Macan S and my 2015 GMC Denali. The only gremlin I've found is that sometimes the USB takes a minute to recognize my iPhone. It is nice to have the USB connection to charge the iPhone and better sound than Bluetooth. The handsfree works sounds like a modern handsfree even at highway speed. The stereo can be heard even with sunroof and windows open at highway speed.
I stopped by the shop mid install to check on the installation. California Car Sounds is a clean shop and the installer was confidence inspiring. I'd use them again.

Just spent the day installing. Very happy, really nice to have phone hands free and have everything in a nice little Porsche package. Definitely paid the Porsche tax but well worth it given how clean of an install.
Also I put the USB, iPod hook up box in the ash tray holder so it's out of sight unless you want to access.
Only thing missing is HD radio.

Looks great. After spending some time with it, I still love it. One thing I'd change would be to relocate the advance arrow from the far right side to the upper left side of the touchscreen. Or make it a physical button on the left side of the unit. I listen to Pandora and skip songs a lot.

any idea what is involved in updating the maps re cost and availability several years down the road? I took a quick look at the manuals and didn't see anything about that
