That's what fortune cookie told me about two months ago and look what I (finally) got!!
It's -95 993, has 38k miles, sport suspension & sport seats, chip. I've already drilled the airbox (big difference in sound!). IMO it's in very nice shape! Guards Red & Black interior. I am happy, happy, happy!!!
I've had it few weeks now and must say it handles great and brings smile to my face!
I gotta take it to the track cause I simply can't drive fast enough with (all those cops out there...)
And I'd like to thank you all fellow rennlisters foa all that help & advised you have given me! T H A N K Y O U
You really have game a lot knowledge especially about 993 (which most of my questions have been). It's your 'fault' that I now have a 993 instead of a 964 which was more in my budget, but after stretching, I was able to squeeze some extra money for this ;-)
Anyway, here's picture of my new 'baby' and 'older baby' that I have back in Finland (ther must be something about G. Red & black interior, because both are like that). Must say they both are such great & fun cars!

Thanks Brad!
I agree w/ the stretching, I would've been wondering about 993 all the time if I now had 964 (which I must admit is a great car too)
Now I've started to put up a list of improvements. You know, aero this and that... First think I need is a Fabspeed supercup exhaust, then...

Welcome to the club. Very nice car to start your project with: Your old car looks my previous 911SC, (silver and black, though - I've always kept this combination). Happy driving.

FF,
Congrats from one who also did "the stretch!"
Last year I finally was ready to "take the plunge" (after 20+ years of yearning), but found that the 964 was more in budget. But heck, isn't that what Home-equity loans are for...emergencies!
Thank goodness I have a wife that understands my Porche Neurosis!
BTW, mine is also a 95, Guards Red/Tan. And like you, I still can't stop grinning

Awesome looking car Finn! I know that "happy, happy, happy" feeling as well. Stretching to get it was worth it (heck, my kids are actually starting to LIKE water on their cornflakes in the morning
)
BTW, any pics of your drilled airbox? I'd like to to the same. Seems to be a couple of different methods.
Happy, Happy, Happy Motoring

Thanks to you all guys! I'm glad to finally be in the (993) club!
Edward, I have to say same about my wife, I actually convinced her that 993 is so much better even though it's more money that she finally said to me (when I was debating b/ween 964-993) that I have to buy 993!
She still thinks I need to sell my older 911, but I'm not through talking yet
She doesn't 'see it' when I say how wonderful those two cars would look sitting next to each other in my garage
bfjohnson, I'll take a photo of it today and post it here. It was really simple, only thing that took some time was 'cleaning' the holes after drilling. I used hole pattern from A.J's page (thanks A.J!), I printed the pattern w/ AutoCAD and used wood cutting drill (same as A.J. has used) that I bought from home depot. It really makes a big difference to the sound! (I still want to have Supercups though...).

Flash,
I have a diy on my site for this - not nearly as complete as AJs cad drawings and templates though.

bfjohnson,
Regarding the airbox cover, I dispensed with all the little holes in the right places and just cut two, large squares out of the lid. I got the idea from seeing the wide-open airbox cover where the "hole" is the area of the entire air filter (Fabspeed, maybe?)
The size of my squares, however, approximate the area of the drilled holes you've seen in the OEM Motorsound lid, but it's much easier to drill four "corner" holes and take a hacksaw blade to connect the dots. I figure the larger openings would flow more air (for whatever that's worth) and it's easier/faster to boot! But yes, AJ's CAD-designed lid does look perfect OEM Motorsound. Just a suggestion.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Congrats on your new car, there's something about a beautiful car in red on black definitely. I'm sure we'll be reading up on your "improvements" on this boards.
Same story for me with the stretchiiiiing. I was looking for a Carrera 3.2 initially, but after a while figured out there simply aren't enough cars in the whole country even if I could have waited forever. Then when I saved up (talked to my friendly bank manager) I told the dealer I was game for a 964. And somehow I ended up with a beautiful '95 C4 in my driveway, what can I say...
Enjoy, Nol
