Did you click on the poll? WhileI won't be making a slightly raised version, you can modify the piece as you like once you receive it.

Great, I just received a test print for the insert which I will test fit today. I know there's no real desire for it but until the full piece comes back from Shapeways, as it shares everything apart from the mount from the full piece, it will give me a good idea of how it fits.

Looks like an interesting idea. Hats off to your creative thinking. I'd be curious to see what this looks like in person.

Just to be clear, I've siad this a few times but I don't want to be in a situation where I claim this as my idea. Another member made a piece in place and then cast it in resin. The mold detriorated after repeated castings and some of the shapes were not refinable. I wanted to take that to the next level by getting it into a computer and refining the shape as required to be effecient and flexible(not bendy flexible) to fit as many 993 as possible.

Test fitting parts are on their way from Shapeways.

A 3D fabricator has been contacted and I've sent off preliminary files for him to review.

I'm going to test fit the insert piece today as it shares the same face with the full mounted piece.

Here is the problem with the pure insert.....

While it will fit beautifully, you'll have to pull the bumper to actual get it to fit as there's just no room to get behind it to force it(gently) into place.

Complicated shape! Had a look yesterday. Didn't seem to be the same shape as some of the how-to's I've seen on the forum. I'll dig into it more when I have time.

In other news, I potentially need to make 70 sets of the mounted inserts! Holy crap, that's a lot! This week should be the answer to whether or not this will work.

These just arrived from Shapeways and they look perfect! The world we live in, holy cow but this just blows my mind. A bit of a sand or some sandable primer and some paint and they would be perfect(for the people who don't object t glueing!).

On the latest version the underside isn't as deep, so its easier to get behind it.

Soon, soon! I'll have examples back from the fabricators later this week and once test fitted and checked I will then take actual orders. I'll leave the books open for a week or so and whatever the number of payments received at the end of that time is, I will order as a batch.

Pretty excited. I'm going to have to pay somebody to ship all this out as the interest is much higher than I anticipated and I just don't have time to actually post these. I'll hit up one our PA's and see if they'd like an evening job for a few sheckles.
