Here's a set that have been printed in abs and sanded down a bit to get rid of the obvious layers created during the printing process,

If you decide not to produce them, would you be willing to share the files so others could grow their own? Maybe upload them to Shapeways and get paid commission on each one ordered from them?

Possibly.

I can always try and gauge interest, if enough people are interested I can look into having a certain number of sets produced.

I've never looked into shapeways, must do so.

Shapeways is a good idea. If they were made a little oversize they could be custom fit to each car. All that would be required is a little file and abrasive cloth work prior to painting.

That's very cool. Where did you get the 3d model of the file and where did you get it printed? What is the scale of the part?

That's pretty cool. I'm in Raleigh and would be interested in a set, if you're attempting to gauge interest for a small production run.

Attempted to upload to shapeways twice on an obj and once on a stl, no error message but no model file in the account I created either. Ah well!

G, I downloaded it from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:27563 and had a coworker's son print it at one of his studios for engineering. I asked for one, and he gave me five just having fun with the machine. My guess is most colleges and maybe even high schools have a 3D printer, and would maybe be helpful in printing what you need.

Lots of people here at work have 3D printers, I'm gonna approach one of them today and see how much it would cost me for him to print me up a batch.

These may cost more than they'd be worth to people. With the cost of the software and the 3D printing in ABS they could be around $100. The main problem is that I'm going to have to get multiple iterations made to hone the fit which is going to stack up fast. (Maybe it might be worth looking into buying a 3D printer? I don't know if one set a day will meet or exceed demand)

On the other hand, $100 for this part, $150 for the euro lights and $20 for a can of paint beats the cost of having your bumperette holes professionally filled and resprayed.

I'll have to try and gauge interest to see how many sets would be needed in a less enigmatically named thread. I'll also need to test some of these on somebody else's car to make sure that the fit isn't so varied that to try and make a universal part is beyond madness.

If I'm just making one set then I just get that printed by my friend with the change I've asked for and put a period on something that has taken me far too long to finish. Either way I'll be relatively happy.

Check out the Craft shop over at State. They might have a 3D printer you can use. It is very inexpensive to join, near you and there are lots of skilled people that like to help. I know a few design folks over there that I can put you in touch with. Give me a call, if you still have my number.

Hey Chip.

I actually work in game development so this place is filled with artists, modelers and tech heads. They all seem to be into 3D modeling at the moment so I may be able to get the help I need here, at least to where I have a design that works for a majority of the cars. Getting batches printed will require some outsourcing I think as can you help me for a few minutes vs can you print out a couple of hundred sets this evening are very different things

Did you ever get your suspension changed out?
