Finally pulled the trigger on the FDM SSK and of course the Golden Rod. Surprisingly, the original rubber boot is still in great condition so I just reused that.

How was the install? I'm going to do mine here in a day or so.

Shot from the other day, parked at our AirBnB while in Monterey for Car Week, drove the car home and gave it a bath.

Installed the FD Motorsports SSK and Goldenrod today. Not a bad job.

Which transmission fluid and differential oil did you use?
I have done my Tip and rear diff around 60K when I got the car and, now, over 122K, I need to do it again.
Thanks in advance.

It get easier every time you do it, but I don't want to do it ever again. Shootout to Stoddard for the quick replacement (no affiliation)
I live in the midwest and drive daily.
I replace it and it lasted lasted 3 years before it started to split at the edges.
I enforced with carbon fiber tape from an local franchised auto supply store as shown.
I did not cut it long enough so the tape did not wrap around properly on the passenger side so it looks messy. Other than that, it is holding up OK so far.

I noticed today that there is a metal flap missing that I usually see on older cars.
1st pic is my 993, and 2nd pic is my 2002 MB E430.
Am I missing a metal flap on my 993?
