I had removed the Nokia HiFI amp awhile ago and was running the power off of the Continental Head unit to run the speakers. Unfortunately it wasn't enough power. I finally decided to add a compact 2x65w amp and it was definitely the correct answer. The front speakers are so much happier with the added power.
Busy day as I wait for the ribs on the smoker. Installed different shift ****, put in new floor mats, and replaced the spoiler wall. Many thanks to this forum and Tore's DIY page on the spoiler wall R/R. Took about 1/2 hr, but could do one now in about 10-15 minutes. If anyone has an old shift boot, I'd love to buy it. My wire in the bottom has lost a little of its shape and rigidity, so it doesn't sit quite how I want it to.
Season start here in the north of europe.
The 3.8 likes the cold mist air. Stickers added with a 10-15 bhp increase (at least).
Whats left is a allignment and a new dyno run
New painted bumper and seals.
Oh my god what a shiluette. In love all over again
When my shop put in the Recaro pole position seats, Momo steering wheel and Fister stage 2 exhaust, they also put in the Fister short shift kit. I absolutely love this shifter and heartily recommend it to my fellow 993 fans.
Replaced clear guards.....sealed the edges with rubbing alcohol mix 24 hours later to ensure good set........$24 from Clearmask.com.....precut.......my third set from them....Suntek product....
200 mile drive back home from new suspension install, plus a few other items. Thanks to Gert @ Carnewal for the Bilstein B6XT, H&R lowering springs, and OEM rubber top hats. Special thanks to Peter Dawes, and his extremely welcoming and competent staff at Dawes Motorsports for the install. Out with the old and tired H&R SS kit with monoballs, same RS ride height, but sooo much more compliant ride. Just an hour of back roads adventure, on the three hour mostly highways trip home. Took it easy cause the old suspension was in box’s behind me on the rear seat backs.
Tracked perfectly, turn in was super crisp, and finally…FINALLY, no funky kinematic additional drama.
It’s literally been almost 4 years, since it felt this good. Frozen front upper monoballs again, then the first bad alignment, missed failing rear trailing arms, another bad alignment…then the CT disaster.
Looking forward to putting some miles on the ole girl this season, with a few road trips planned. Rolled past 130k on the trip to Dawes shop, and going strong. She was among royalty there…a RUF 993 TT, and an early Andial 993TT were on site. RUF can be seen in the background of the pic attached…
After a year of waiting today was the day! Finally installed my painted hard backs from Waldemar. Quality is top notch! I was a bit surprised by the fact I had to put them together, terrified actually, as I didn't even know what the heck a hog ring was before yesterday. After a few beers, countless F bombs, walking away for the night, watching Rocky, and telling myself I could do it they are done! I'm not a very handy dude which I freely admit. The toughest part of the whole endeavor was fitting the leather and learning how to use the hog ring pliers. Never having stretched leather there was a fair amount of unknown so the anxiety was high as these cost a fair sum and the expectation is they are perfect. Well it took a couple days from start to finish and I'm really glad for the experience. Proved to myself I can actually be useful!
it was like a new car after! These seat fit me so perfect and it is by far the most comfortable I have been in a 993. So glad I took the plunge on them!
