Weather was great today, perfect for a drive to the club. 😁
Hi Gert,
Very beautiful 993 and congrats for the beautiful restoration. So if I understand well, your 993 is a 1995 C2 with wide body? I never heard of this that’s crazy!

Thanks, it’s still not finished, but the car is getting better every step of the way.
Your statement is correct 993 C2 95 wide body.
a previous owner spended a lot of money fitting genuine porsche 993 turbo rear panels, bumpers and wheels. And they did a nice job.
Although the car did not leave the factory as a wide body. It is all genuine Porsche.
A collector would probably be less interested, but i like the car and the looks.
The car had a turbo wing when I purchased the car, but i traded that in for the carrera hood and wing.
I’m going to add a split grill in the future, I already have it, but it’s waiting for the next time the car enters the bodyshop to get it painted.
Color change repaint. So the engine bay and trunk are getting fully gutted.
As for the motor and trans themselves while it's out, no need to dig too deep (motor does not need a rebuild)...
Motor:
Just cleaning some hard to reach areas, yanking the engine shroud, painting the rear engine tin, etc. Will pull the injectors and inspect/get them ultrasonically cleaned. Valve cover reseal (only one has the faintest of leaks but may as well do them all). Lastly, will replace the rear main seal when I get the trans off. I had previously done a bunch of items before I dropped the motor yesterday: full varioram tear down and reseal, clewett conversion, cooling fan/alternator maintenance, carbon blower bypass, timing cover reseal, painted other 3 sections of engine tins, all new wires, coils, distributor rebuild, etc. Also replaced the SAI valve, check valve and fixed the wiring on the SAI pump.
Trans:
Cleaning, replace the leaking input shaft seal, flush/replace fluid. Will separate it from the motor to inspect the clutch. I have an "RS" clutch installed by the previous owner. Want to inspect the clutch and confirm the parts used and pressure plate. Will be installing an MPL clutch slave with remote bleeder.

What color are you going with? Cant wait to see the final product
Took the beast up to Malibu via PCH, remembering all the good ole canyon runs of years gone by when dozens of us would meet at PCH and Sunset with our 993 and open 'em up (and back when supercars were not a thing). We headed up to the Sunday monring weekly impromtu car show. I had never seen a 918 Spyder before in the flesh. Pretty amazing automobile. The old gent sitting in the chair next to the 918 is tending to his 1968 Ferrari 330 GTS - worth easily 2X those super cars. Too many great cars to post, but . . . ran across a vintage 993 Turbo with 32K on the clock. Also got the usual - what do you have on that 993 sir, it sounds just amazing - Fab Speed Supercups - no baffles as always, no substitute when you want a Porsche to sound like a Porsche!
I’ve had this C4S for 6 months now and just love the darn thing! Already have done SSK with custom shift ****, Fister stage 2, fabspeed x-pipe, RS strut brace. And, finally, just had MCS 2 way non remotes installed with Tarett drop links, and sways. This suspension was the big game changer. Possibly a little overkill, but I can’t imagine anything else giving a better feel. Really looking forward to some twisty roads and hopefully get some track time soon. And she fits in well with the rest of the ladies.
I spent the night at our lake place to attend two track days. On Friday it rained (the wet track was great fun!) but yesterday I unexpectedly woke up to this:
The 20 mile drive on lightly traveled backroads with summer tires was safe but very slow. Of course everything dried out in short order and the weather turned out to be unseasonably cool but pleasant. After two long days on the track, plus over 400 miles round trip up and back, the 993 never missed a beat. At this point, that’s just what I’ve come to expect. As a bonus, somewhere along the way home the odometer marked 30,000 miles that I’ve personally added in roughly 3.5 years of ownership (now 137,9xx total on car). I’m still enjoying the air cooled experience.
A very skilled and generous owner also gave me a ride in his GT2RS, which was great fun. All in all a very good weekend.

Have you found a vendor who sells the MPL clutch slave in the states?
