Very wise move, but egads, that is terrifying! there is a tube leading from the clutch into the air filter housing, to suck clutch dust out of the bell housing. Dirties up the paper filter in no time flat - that K&N POS would in no way be sufficient to filter out that clutch dust. I hope your engine hasn’t got excessive wear due to the particulates entering the intake

Certainly hope not. I just got the car from a fellow Rennlister. I looked inside the air box and it was quite clean, actually.

I hope not too. A number of us have removed the clutch tube and installed a plug in the airbox (standard on the tip models which of course have no clutch). Do you still have the tube (arrow in pic)? With luck maybe the PO removed or disconnected it.

You might want to consider ordering the blackstone oil test kit and send them a sample from your next oil change, for info on metal wear levels and contaminants.

Yes, it does. Had to disconnect to give room to push the airbox to its right to pull it out for the filter swap.
The clutch dust will be an issue if the clutch is going bonkers. Shop which did the PPI said clutch is in good shape.
But thanks for the oil test kit. Will keep in mind when the next oil change comes.

Beautiful!!!
Did it come already painted or did a bodyshop do that?

I'm considering re-spraying my insert in a darker and matt grey.

I bought this here as is... it was a great find. I’m not that lucky buying Porsche upgrades/ parts.

i like the idea of a different color on the grills and I considered it but the color matched so well I stuck with it.
