Drove it to Driven to America 3 on Long Island. Not quite Luftgekuhlt but getting closer. Must have been about 400 Porsches. Lots of great people, too.
-Have clear IR blocking ceramic film installed on all windows (including windshield)
-Have paint protective film installed on the front bumper, hood, cowl, front fenders, mirrors, trailing edges of fender openings, and "shark fin" area of rear quarters.
-Have the car ceramic coated
Gotta protect that new front bumper setup. Whole car should be next level shiny soon.
Picked it up from local porsche classic centre with fresh oilchange, filters, new sunroof seals, fixed inner sunroof liner and new rubberseal/piping on front fender.
Very happy and it saved me time and a ton of work.
Old rubber piping damaged when PO repainted it. Only way to fix it is to remove and install a new rubber piping gasket. Old sunroof seals loose on several places and looks like the lochness monster breaking the surface of the water. New sunroof seals and glue and no more «nessie» New rubberpiping with a sparkle of fingerprints and polishing dust
Got around to installing some used techart brake ducts/fog lights (Thanks Chris!) Had contemplated repainting them but I like the yellow contrast for now.
Also did the fender/cowl seal replacement - what a headache that was! Midway through I was wondering how I convinced myself it was a good idea.
