Not today, but over the weekend. Took her out to a local EASY meetup in Emeryville, CA and got to meet a bunch of people that I've only had the pleasure of conversing with online.

Drove down to the Finger Lakes in Upstate NY for the weekend. Caught the vintage car event in Watkins Glen. Fantastic!

Airbag resistor trick worked. Still working on the horn. Feels really really nice. I need a Porsche horn button.

Had the RS motor mounts installed. Seems like it adds stability although I need to put more miles and challenges on it before I know exactly.

I found the RS Engine Mounts quite transformative.. That gentle rock at idle, 3rd to 2nd Gear positivity..

One of my dial lights failed last week (the oil pressure & temp dial). So I looked up Rennlist for the led mod, and decided to do the replacement. The "cool white" leds from superbrightleds came in yesterday and it was a quick installation to replace them for all the dials. The warning lights have not been modified, however.

It's much much brighter now (and dimmable)!

Today I swaped out the softbacks for custom buckets. The feel and feedback of the car is even more sharpened than before and it does not look that bad either. It was a pita to install, but well worth it in the end.

Did the drive cycle and passed my smog check today!!!
Had the low battery few weeks ago and triggered random cylinders misfire and check engine light. The check engine light went away after few days but didn't realize some of the readiness codes haven't been reset. Actually failed the first smog check last week with Oxygen Sensor, SAI, and Evap not ready. Finally found some time this morning to attempt the drive cycle for the first time. Followed the BMW drive cycle PDF someone posted earlier and to my surprise only Evap not ready after the first drive cycle. Called the smog check station and confirmed it's ok to have Evap not ready and drove directly to the shop and passed the smog!! So glad I don't have to worry about this for another two years!!!

BTW, does anyone know the specific step to reset the Evap code? Idle the car for a period of time?

Andy

I published a video about taking my 993 up to the Tail of the Dragon in the mountains of North Carolina. I got a lot of what I think is very cool footage of the car as well as some good insight into the area.

If you like this video, please like (or dislike!), comment and subscribe to my channel as I am actively creating content about my 993.
