Mike, looking great. I spotted my wheel w/ deviated stitching. Will match polar silver perfectly. Once again appreciate your hard work putting this group buy together.

Update received just about 5 minutes ago. Ah, Europe. It's May, so holidays like you would not believe, everybody gets good and drunk on behalf of defeating Dr. Porsche's Faterland 70+ years ago...

All wheels are mostly done, except Gerard's needs a new crest mounted and Seyhan's need some finishing. They seem to think that they'll be done in 2-3 days and be ready to ship. I'm trying to get them to ship the finished wheels first to expedite a little, all wheels coming back will be in two separate boxes, anyway.

So, stay tuned. At this point I'm waiting on tracking numbers.

I finally received a response last week, almost 3 weeks after the wheel was delivered to them. I sent payment, and they indicated they would send "last week", which I guess meant "next week", which would be this week With expedited DHL delivery, I really hope I may get it next week, or at least by the end of the month.

I must have missed it elsewhere in this thread but generally what are these steering wheels costing (with shipping) to have recovered in Europe?

In my case, about $125 for the actual work (110 Euro) of installing smooth leather and extra padding, and $175 for shipping, 70% of which was due to being ripped off by my local non-USPS mail center when I sent the wheel over. Total cost should have been less than $260 rather than $300. But still worth it IMO, based on photos I've seen.

I've had several steering wheels recovered by Dallas Custom Steering Wheel. He is considerably more expensive but does fantastic work and turn around is usually about one week from shipping out to back in your hands.

This thread does make me think, though. I've got a BMW wheel I'd like recovered...

Not from me. Let me recover from this one first (pun intended).

I think the price and quality are good enough to have a wheel done without waiting for a group buy. I sent mine over in mid April. The disadvantage here is that communications are slow and somewhat difficult due to english language limitations, and you have to be very patient for the work to be done, at least based on my experience. I'm still not sure if mine is done or when I'll get it, although 2 weeks ago they indicated it would be sent to me last week.

For those of you who have had wheels done by Carsdream, do they notify you when they've shipped it back to you, or does it just arrive one day? They aren't good at answering my infrequent requests for status.

You could try communicating in Polish Ken. Check this out:

I've used it for English to French and it works well.
