First job? Prepare the window apertures and fit the front and rear screens. Headlining stuck back into place first, followed by the inner window seal. The fresh paint is then primed with special windscreen bond paint to ensure a factory strength joint.

Oil system comes next but must be fitted off the floor to give full access to the whole side of the car.

Work then started on the interior build and the front end, Rob here screwing in the lights once the front PU had been fitted.

It is always a pleasure to follow one of your builds! Your staff's attention to detail is exemplary.
I believe a few builds back that you had mentioned that one day you would show us how you replace the sunroof weatherstrip seal. Did I somehow miss that? or did I imagine reading it? I might have . :-)
Also please, jansan946 in post #40 mentioned/suggested the use of a sacrificial replaceable anode. He suggested zinc, but I believe magnesium is used as well. Do you have any experience with that? It is common in the boating and bridge building industry.

The anode when bolted to steel/iron will absorb the free electrons which facilitate corrosion. Do you have any experience with that? It is common in the boating and bridge building industry.

Porsche was one step ahead of you. The 993 already has a sacrificial magnesium anode - its engine fan.
I have a dozen in my shop right now that prove the point.

This is true! However it did not work on this car!
Is the back side of the fan painted? The metals need to be un-coated where they meet to be effective (or attached by wire).

Yes, the fans are coated/painted front & back. That said, the balancing holes were machined after the fact, thus exposing magnesium to the elements....
I mentioned the fans partly in jest, as I know what a sacrificial anode is, and it's reason for being. But if you could see some of the fans I've collected, you'd swear that was their purpose!

Busy times in the build area. As well as the Zenith C2S we have:
Arena Red 993 Turbo - similar detail build work including window aperture paint, aftermarket alarm delete, Becker fit and full underbody steam and wax.
Iris Blue 993C4S - alarm & immobiliser remove and update, Becker stereo and front end detail (after prior bumper repair), full steam and wax
Grey 997C2S - waiting on windscreen
White 911 Carrera 3.2 - kidney bowls, b-posts & quarter panel repairs
Arrow Blue 911 Carrera 3.2 (in front of turbo) - full repaint to original colour
Screens now bonded into the C2S, note how the adhesive fills the cavity at the sides.
To ensure that the remaining space in the cavity does not fill with water, we usually fill the void with bond along the bottom sections and part way up the sides before fitting the outer seal.
It's amazing that just fitting the screens makes the shell look like a car again, showing off Rob's great work building up the front end.
Final shots are of the bonnet (hood) catch. I've included these to show you all that there are two versions of the catch with the same part number, one with a light spring, one with a heavy spring. The heavy spring version is required to pop the bonnet open upon release, the light spring version is just not strong enough to do same, so if you have an issue with this check the catch first and compare the spring diameter with the two in the photos.

Amazing job!!! IMPECCABLE! Curious as to where you have located those jackstands, supporting the front and rear? I've aways wondered if there were alternate support points, beyond the typical jack placement points, we all know.

Final photos for tonight, Carrera S engine spoiler grille fitted, Mark adjusting the engine lid catch. Note the new exhaust heat shields on the silencer pipes.
The 993 arrived with an aero kit rear spoiler which we decided to leave off and revert back to factory specification. Only problem was.... someone had also removed the spoiler control relay from under the seat. £250 later, the spoiler worked again.
