Default Source for 12 V 1.4 W center console bulbs?

Anyone know where I can buy these? Radio shack and Autozone don't have them with the naked wire ends. I don't want to go with LED's in this application.

Thanks.

When I pulled my center console to repair its broken bracket, a couple of the center console bulbs were no longer working when I reinstalled it. The filaments just broke from the light jostling.

I searched and bought a couple of bulbs from different vendors, but they just were not right. I hope you can find something suitable.

In the end, I converted to LED, but I did not score the PCB as outlined here. I soldered an inline resistor for each bulb. The information there was invaluable in making my conversion to LED in the console.

I have one remaining original bulb that was still working when I made the switch. Send a PM with your postal address if you would like me to send it to you.

I also found most of the bulbs not working when I recently removed the Center Console sections. White and red LEDs with an appropriate inline resistor for each were fitted for a way brighter and longer lasting solution.

Pelican Parts on-line? Radio Shack doesn't do automotive and Autozone does not specialize in German cars.

Sorry for the OT question, but your black plastic actually looks black, as opposed to "brownish black" like most 993s I see. Is that just the lighting, or did you do something to restore it?

You can use standard 2v 3mm LEDs, they don't need to be 12v, but you have to use a series resistor to drop the voltage.

I never touched it, maybe it's the lighting, but it's never looked brownish.

If you're looking for regular incandescent bulbs and not LEDs, try Mouser Electronics - part no. 606-CM7646 - they're 14v 0.08A and bi-pin and fit just fine. You'll need to desolder the burnt out ones, bend the pins slightly on the new ones with a needle nose pliers, then solder these in. I did this on 3 burnt out bulbs 5-yrs ago and they've been working fine ever since.

part #276-209 -- I was just at RS yesterday and all components in the drawers were 70-90% off...
